I'm not a rocket scientist but doesn't extreme heat like that re-temper & change the strength/structural properties of metal? If that is true then even the A-arms would not be trustworthy.

what do I know - I'd buy the wing and sell it at the local import meet for thousands!!!! I bet with that wing an Eclipse could achieve lift off!

I'm sure it would pass a safety test and get certified. Tires might be borderline.......Nah they should be fine.

If it has a clear title with a VIN number, someone will buy it, and someone elses 2009 ACR will soon turn up missing.
It isn't rocket science to put that scenario together.

Read the article "How to steal a Ferrari" in the latest edition of "0-60" magazine - that will scare the poop outta you - Cover/story is the ACR vs SLR.

any link to the article?

Have you seen what happens to steel when exposed to that much heat for that long? It becomes very soft and weak. The aluminum probably melted. That was a very hot fire! Also note the guy has ZERO feedback..

He needs to sawzall it, and put it out to the curb for trash....

$4,500 and reserve still not met?

I mean seriously. What is useable on that thing? taillights, wing, rear fascia, a few suspension components? ok, so. Take them off, and trash it. I cant even see 1 useable wheel on it.

Yeah he is under the assumption he will get 5k for the wing alone and 15k for the hood that flew off before it hit the tree. I explained to him the cost of his hood for his year viper and wing though I don't think he processed it. I also explained to him that 98 percent or higher of that vehicle can no longer be used because it was exposed to extreme heat and no one with a car capable of doing high speeds is going to risk using any parts from it. Guess he didnt listen. Took my offer away from him today said it is no longer good and good luck.

Had to have insurance.

This is not a dealer, apparently he is a friend of the owners selling it for him. I talked to the guy on the phone for a little bit. I tried to meet up with him to take high res photos of the car and he couldnt get away from work to show it to me. As I said I was comfortable paying 1000 for it though the risk would be on me. I'm pretty sure I can make that 1k back and have some parts to disect and learn some things.

Wreck happened 6 miles from my business. I didn't know the driver and passenger, but many friends and acquaintances know them. Apparently, based on what most have said regarding the "character" of these guys, this car was doomed from the start.

After talking to him on the phone based on his friends character he is very oblivious to the value of things. 15k Gen 4 hood lol.

I figured.. Which is why he still has it, and not a salvage yard via purchased from the Insurance carrier

So, lets see. Based on MSRP($105k). It cost him $362.07 for every mile he drove it, GONE.....
