Pricing came out close to what everyone expected. I can't wait to get the exact detail on the options.
You can do a whole lotta modding for 23k. Thats a bit much, dont ya think....
Has anyone figured the " King of the Hill " GTS will come in under a ZR1 and eat it's lunch -- kudos to SRT.
$23K is nice chunk of money to put to wards mods. Problem is, what mods can be done to the GenV? Will the PCM be locked and not-tunable? Will the computer trips CELs if headers are added? Can a Paxton be installed? Many questions on mods.... Still waiting to see performance numbers on the GenV. Also would like to know option pricing. Based on what was done to the GenV I'm not surprised on the pricing. Now, can performance back up the price tag?
Still wondering about the PCM codes, but I'm pretty sure a Mopar PCM option will be available so we can utilize headers, exhaust and possibly ported heads. The SRT will also be able to use alternate shocks such as the MCS's for real track duty, ride improvement will have to wait to see how the new car feels first.
I applaud SRT, as this has single handedly wiped out the $137,999 and above rumors going on for months.
Sure with gas guzzler and shipping the car will likely be a bit over 100K in base form, but look at the monumental improvements it has received. Though the GTS has a bit more gap than some may have anticipated , one with no added options is going to be an extremely well equiped car.

Not one call today to complain, and that is everything in a nutshell --- when customers call and they are pleased with how SRT is handling the new Viper, it is apparent the pricing is fair and spot on to perception.
I have owned 5 Vipers and am sorry to say that my 03 will probably be my last. I don't know what world you all are living in but this economy has done me in and a $130k Viper is not in my near term financial future.
$23,000 -- one would guess a ton of that gets eaten up by the added electronics ( NAV, back up camera, etc. ), especially the suspension/shocks , electric seats, and the upgraded luxury interior. Even the standard seats are an upgraded Sabelt Nappa leather over the cloth/vinyl/leather base ones.
I won't disagree one bit that it sounds like a gap, but with the cost of a KW suspension on an ACR, one can easily postulate that the electronic one could easily be upwards of almost half the cost increase of the GTS, imho.
I have only seen specifically mentioned the two-mode active suspension and then some vague general references to other differences, what confirmation on other differences do we have and what are they?
It seems odd to me that the GTS version would have the two-mode active suspension, which indicates a track car, but then also have NAV, electric seats, luxury interior, etc., which seems counter to such. I'm not seeing any reason to get the GTS, for me at least, but want to make sure there isn't some must-have.

It appears that, as Ralph said, the SRT is the basic package to appeal to current owners while the GTS is intended as a Grand Tourer
Anyone else find it amazing that a Viper that will be at least 115K ( gas guzzler, sales tax, delivery etc and NO options) is positioned as the entry level car. The poor mans Viper. What recession?
It will be interesting to see who steps up to actually purchase the Gen V. Not talking, but putting hard-earned money down to actually take delivery. Since I am located in SoCal, I am sure I will see many Gen Vs on the road. For now, I will enjoy my Gen IV.
Will it be the Gen II owners who like the Gen II look of the Gen V and are ready to part with large $$$$$$? Looks aside, if Gen IV owners upgrade to even the "Base Model" SRT for incremental increases in performance it will likely run their Gen IV PLUS $50,000 or more ($40k plus $10k in tax and license fees, plus $$$$ in Options)--that is a lot of scratch.
