Gents... I'm ideally looking for a white GT... Local dealer offered 2.5k over invoice. What are you guys getting out there? Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for a Viper as well, and can tell you right now I would absolutely NOT pay over sticker on a car dealers are struggling to sell. Find a dealer who is willing to play fair. It's a buyer's market as far as I'm concerned.

I see you say $2500 over invoice, not over sticker. Not sure if that was mistaken by above post.

Most dealers should be willing to order you a car at invoice, I was able to get that deal a couple months ago with barely any haggling, so $2500 over invoice for a car at a dealer is not a good deal IMO. You should be able to order one for less. For one on the showroom floor I'd say they'd have to get into the hold-back, which is in the$3200 range, so invoice minus $2500 would be a good deal, IMO. You also have other things to deal on, like an extended warranty, a car cover, etc. Hope that helps.

I was happy with straight invoice. Took 1 phone call, asked the dealer if they'd sell 2015 on floor for invoice. Manager called back and deal was done.

I thank you gents for the input... What would the invoice on a 90 msrp viper? Ideally looking to see what the difference is from msrp to invoice and plan my next visit.

Truecar.com quotes factory invoice of $84,679 for an SRT Viper with MSRP of $89,090. I don't know how accurate it is.

So on a 91k car you expect to pay invoice minus holdback? If there is 6k cushion to the invoice and taking the holdback will bring it to around 83k? I really was thinking there was more room on these cars given that they sit at the dealership a long time...

Uh, 2015s have been at dealerships for just over a month now, that isn't a "long time."

If you want to wait a year and pick one up at below invoice, then go ahead. If you want one now then thats where it is.

I was under the assumption that these cars sit at the dealership prolonged periods.. Hence slowing down the production etc. Are the 15s moving out quicker than the 14s? I hear stories of cars sitting for a year at dealerships etc...

So I'm ideally looking for a base model or a GT in white with red interior. What do you guys think would be the approx. price I should expect to pay? Imagine a 95 to 100k MSRP car what would be a killer deal?

Holdback is something that the manufacturer gives to the dealers for every car.. And it varies depending on the car model and equipment etc. I believe that is around 3200 for this car... Some dealers give that up to sell a car and some don't even neg. the holdback. MSRP is the suggested price and invoice is what the dealer pays the manufacturer but the ultimate cost of a single car to a dealer is invoice minus holdback minus any type of finance reserve minus dealer cash (if applicable) etc that they may have. Also if a car is in a dealers floor plane for a long time it also ends up costing them more.

Based on what I've seen so far, production on the 2015MY is about 3 a day, the 2014MY was about 8

To be fair, time of year can play a role in how flexible a dealer is willing to be. You may get an "at invoice" deal or invoice plus whatever - one is a good deal, the other is better, and since they're both under MSRP neither is bad. I don't mind paying MSRP for a rare/special order car that is going to have limited availability...but with the new Vipers it looks like SRT ironed out their logistical issues that were present for the 2013 model year, so there's no reason not to take a shot at getting some discount off MSRP. If they aren't flexible on the sales price, you may want to get them to give you the extended warranty at a steep discount. Don't know if they still offer the warranty I got, which is "lifetime", Chrysler factory (not a 3rd party warranty service) and bumper-to-bumper.

Don't mean that as a challenge, just wondering if you found multiple giveaway 2015 deals, which is a unicorn deal and you're seeing multiple ones, why you haven't pulled the trigger? Finding a leftover 2014 with a weird color combo at $79k is an amazing deal, find a 2015 all that, let alone "deals" - multiple at $79K ... wow, you should own a car already. Now moving towards April, deals will mostly range from $0 - $6k off MSRP, I doubt dealers will be digging into holdback during spring/summer. There's not a lot of room in the price of vipers, they were already marked down $15K last year, that removed nearly all margin upfront in the MSRP alone. On avg a 2015 with a MSRP of $100k, would've cost you $115k MSRP on 2014/2013, but Dodge already discounted it for you.

People either want one or they don't. There haven't been "multiple $79,000 deals" because there are about 6 people on both clubs that have 2015s posting about it online. Not aware of any that have gotten below MSRP. Comparing a deal on a 2013 to a 2015 is just silly on his part.

There maybe sub $80,000 deals on older models, but those are going to dry up eventually.

When I say I see 79k deals, I'm talking about people reporting it on the forums and for me to buy. If the dealer had offered me that price I would be owning one now but the best offer I got was as I stated 85.7k on a white one. I'm not in a terrible rush to get one but would like to wait out for a killer deal if possible.

Personally I'd be super happy anywhere in the invoice to invoice +~2k range for one that I build. If I took it off the floor, that's where I would insist on invoice or invoice minus something (depending on how far it is from what I want, and how long it's been sitting) a 2015 GT has not been around long.

So if it was the car I wanted exactly, and it's new, 85k seems a hell of a deal to me. I paid sticker (NOT invoice) for all my Vipers, and my 08 sticker was 93k, so when you factor in inflation, that's a freaking insane deal on a Gen 5, but I get that it's a buyers market now.... (inb4 you're a ***** you paid too much; I was the first to order each viper at the order window and they were all built by me, so I didn't really have a lot of room for negotiation, and I just wanted the darn thing fast and first).

Me thinks these are highly exaggerated "deals", like Harold says above, there are reposts, etc., bottom line, if there were several people getting these sub-$80K deals we'd see it here on the other club, and so far it's stuff like "I called and they said they sold it for NN" or "I saw one posted but can't find it now". That's why it's not great to get that lowballing urban legend stuff flying around, it frustrates real buyers like you and can cause you to miss what could be a really good deal because it's being compared to a deal that really has a story behind it or doesn't exist. Keep shopping, you seem to be doing well in the hunt, the right one will come, just nab it when it does, I know I got my car bought literally just minutes before another member was going to buy it.

I'm working with a dealer that has a 2013 new left over SRT with 500 miles on it. They are sticking to 82k. I think that is about 10 grand high.

The price they offered was for ordering a white one the way I wanted but I think if I take the Orange base one they have it might be cheaper. Now I'm debating if I should take the one off the floor.... Or wait for a white one. From seeing the responses here, it seems that an invoice deal on a 15 is excellent.

The only issue with the one on the floor is they have it sitting next to a service area waiting area and people touch it all damn day..

Muscle unless it's roped off its touched. I guarantee you after you buy it, "unworthys" will touch it all the time, it's the price of Viper ownership. I get handprints on glass, on the sides, I've even come out to buttprints, it is what it is...

They'll "make ready" the car anyway, so it will be perfect. True, you order one, no one touches it (before you), but you gotta wait. If you want white, wait, if you want orange I'd do it. I think they are both drop dead **** and would own either, so I get the toughness of the decision.

Nsane, I couldn't agree with you more. I'm very much used to that type of negative attention to the car. It's just that my Supra and my Harley are white and I'd like to match them... More over ideally I'd like to get a white car with the red seats to match my Supra. Orange I really like and to be honest I like the base model's hood more than the GTS hood. But it seems that the red seats are only available in the GT and up... Unless I've understood it wrong (someone please tell me I'm wrong and I can get the red seats with the base model).

The car is not roped off... And I saw kids leaning on it etc and I was pissed just looking at it and it's not even my car... I think cars as such deserve respect and needs to be enjoyed from a foot or two away.

One quick question for the viper veterans.... I'd like to take the car to work from time to time... How do you guys deal with the fact that anyone that knows vipers can open the hood etc? Are there any ways to lock it etc?

Just checked out a 2015 in a dealership today, with signs on the car asked for people to please not touch it. Too bad they didn't tell that to their cleaning staff. Clear coat looks like they used the same broom to clean the car as the floor!
Surprisingly, none of the sales people seemed to notice or care..........

See that's the issue when you have non car guys tasked to sell such vehicles.. They don't care and don't see cars in the same light as us enthusiasts.
