I wouldn't put those bricks on anything I drive, especially a Viper!

Buy a set of new Pilots and you'll see a huge difference in performance and safety!

Yup what all the above said, in their day the MXXX3s had the best treadwear rating but haven't been made in 5-6 years, rocks by now.

charleston, wv? I grew up near there, I'll have to look you up this spring when I'm up there with my car (family still lives there).

I'm with these guys, my buddy just busted his car driving on the old tires, those things are not sticky. If you want to keep the car stock (like for collecting or shows) I suggest you buy another set of wheels and put new tires on them and store the original wheels/tires. Best to avoid unanticipated losses of traction.

GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!

Buy what you want, drive on what you want...BUT, keep in mind that MXX3's are so far past their production date that they are no longer "high speed rated".

Thanks for the responses.

I checked with Jon B and he only had one used MXX3. You are probably right about bricks (LOL). (I feel like Fred Flintstone) I don't drive all that fast anymore. I'll check out some of the used ones. Does anybody have Viper Parts Larry's phone number?

Snanpro:
Maybe we can get some Viper owners together and meet at *******. Be sure to email me in advance when you're traveling in the Charleston area. There's a GTS (turbo) owner from Hurricane WV that post on the board frequently.

Chad: yeah, that's the guy. He lost it getting of the interstate one day, went backwards over a curb and busted the two rear rims and one front rim. I sold him the stock wheels I had just removed from my car and he needed an alignment bad, but he's back on the road.

This past spring I replaced my original OEM MXX3's (18,000 miles) with "New" last production (late 1998 as I remember) MXX3's. Stored properly, felt soft as compared to the old rocks and fortunately made a world of difference traction wise. I still wish though that I was a little less of a Boy Scout and bought new PS2's instead of Always Being Prepared.
