I just dynoed my 97gts after adding 1.7 Arrow rockers and installing polished throttle bodies. This is the best hp/$ I have spent after tubes and filters. However, you must install headers and a complete 3' exhaust to get these benfits from the 1.7 rockers and polished throttle bodies.

So did you dyno before with just the headers? If so, what was the best pull? If you picked up 38rwhp by just adding 1.7 rockers and TB's, that's awesome! What size TB's? Did you loose any torque from the install?

The car dynoed at 441rwhp,480rwtq with Edelbrock headers,3" hiflo cats, Borla exhaust, modified K@N airbox, with BTR tubes/filters,modified computer. Gained 38hp/45tq after adding 1.7 rockers and bored and polished stock throttle bodies.

That's an excellent result -- congrats!

Those of you with '00-'01 cams/lifters will probably not experience this large a power increase. I'd be interested to see any before/after data on a '00+ car adding lifters.

Sorry if this is getting old, but as I understand it, your RWHP before TB's and rockers was 403. Then you added TB's and rockers and your RWHP is 441? Just trying to understand. It just seems that with the headers, tubes, and filters you should have more than 403.

and then 479/525 after the tb's and rockers?

That's how I understood it too. But I'm still unsure about the #'s. If he's saying he got 479 HP & 525 TQ to the ground with all of those add-ons - then he's got a magic Dyno that I need. I myself only got 459.2 RWHP & 502 RWTQ with that same, exact set-up.

To Trey: I dynoed the car sat.4/20 along with some other members of the NE viper club. The car (97gts) dynoed @479hp/525tq rear wheels. Last fall, The car dynoed at 441/480rw on the same dyno. There were also other members from the NE club there. The only changes I made from last fall to this spring were, adding Arrow 1.7 rockers, and bored and polished stock throttle bodies that I bought from David Wilkes on an exchange basis. I'm obviously very pleased with the results. I dynoed the car three times last sat. First run 478.9hp/525.2tq. 2nd run, 477.2/518.8, 3rd pull,478.1/522.6. So the highest pull @ 479/525 is no fluke! All the pulls were very close. The other cars that were dynoed that day had results very close to what they should have been with the mods. Also, I think Don's 2001 stock "creampuff" pulled 400hp. Don, please help me with the results if you have them. Trey what exact mods do you have? Tim

1 3/4 TNT Headers
1.7 Arrows
Aluminum Flywheel
Ported Intake

I do have High-Flow Cats though. I know if I remove them it will make a difference, but 20 to the ground?? Not.

SNKBYT:

Do you have cats or no cats?

King GTS,

Do not under estimate the restriction of catalytic converters. Twenty hp at the wheels is very believable when you consider the big picture.

Its a simple enough test, just make test pipes and go to the dyno.

These #'s were actual rwhp/rwtq #'s from the dyno

So you mean that your trying to compare actual (uncorrected) rwhp or am I not reading this right, are they SAE corrected? Do you have a dyno chart that can be posted? Thanks

MES, these dyno #'S are SAE #'s The correction factor was 1.00. Air temp. 77 F. Barometric pressure 29.44. I can't post the dyno sheet due to a lack of a scanner. Tim

The computer was from Fitzgerld Motorsports in Laconia,NH Sean Roe put my car on his computer at V0I-6. I was going to purchase a VEC-1 from Sean, but he said the computer in the car was very good. It had about 8 derees of timing advance and had a very good air /fuel mixture throughout the rpm range. Tim
