Enthusiast
Hello Houston Viper Club,
This has become one of our most popular events over the last few years. Whether you are a complete newbie to the track, your Viper, or a seasoned driver you will have fun. This drivers' education event allows you the experience of driving on a road course at speed among fellow Viper owners. For beginners there will be more experienced drivers available as instructors for your group and passing will be done in a controlled and safe manner. For more advanced drivers we will allow more passing zones but a point by will be required. There will be multiple driving groups. We will not be racing. More details will be provided at the drivers' meeting.
Please review the tech form attached to your email from the Houston VCA as a guideline for proper condition of your car and bring a completed copy the day of the event. Your brake fluid should be no more than six months old. It should be recently flushed if you track your car often (as you know). There are many more items to consider and bring, but my experience for track days the most common issues are tires, brake fluid, and brake pads.
While on the course you will be required to wear a helmet, closed toe shoes, and long pants. Long sleeves are preferred. This is the required attire for karting in the afternoon as well (full face helmet required for karting, the karting facility does have helmets available for karting). You can just 'cruise' the course. We aren't expecting you to try to drive out of your comfort zone. This is about having fun with your Viper without having to worry about that speedometer getting you in trouble and learning how your car performs in a safer environment than on the street.
Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of on track activities. Then, if your stomach can handle it, on to karting!

The club has negotiated a reduced rate of $20 for all karting sessions.
***The Club Officers reserve the right to invite members of other clubs to help share costs should we not reach the target of 25 cars or require additional experienced drivers to serve as instructors.
Safety comes first. MSR-H staff will be on hand and the club will defer to track staff for issues of safety and organization.
See you there!
