Kim says 45 have checked to drag racing option for Milan Friday. My confirmation letter says there will be two classes stock and Modified. I hope to get some more info on the class structure next week. ie bracket or heads up.

With that many cars we can have some fun.

Pauls, its a bit@h that the Mopar Nationals is the same weekend and your leaving Ohio where the M. N. is held to go to Mich? I was wondering which would be the larger, better event and I decided to go to the Mopar Nationals. Maybe I made the wrong decision..... Never been to either event and not planning on racing, just gawking.

Mopar Nationals? They are Aug 9-10 in Columbus, but have no Viper class. Ok as your travel agent here is your summer agenda!!
Aug 1 Zone Rendevous,
Aug 9 Mopar Nats in Columbus.
Aug 16 Combo Viper AutoX and Drags in Columbus $500 to win the combined. Called the Neo Nationals
Sept 13-14 The Viper Nationals at Norwalk, the worlds riches Viper Drag race. $2000 purse and rising!!

Go chryslerclassic.com for info on both Viper Nats and Neo Nats.

Thanks Pauls. I was mistaken. Now I need to free up some time and try to make both events (Mopar Nationals & Zone).
Appreciate the help.

If your registered for the Rendevous there is no charge.

If not? Who's to say you can't easy in a watch? At VOI they let anyone in to spectate.

There is very little info on the schedule. I'm told Milan Raceway is running the program. My agenda says 10AM.

Just talked with Fiona, she says there will be two sessions at the drags, morning and afternoon. You can stay all day if you like and make laps. Classes are stock and modified; period. One winner in each class for each session. I'm assuming this will be a heads up format. They didn't think of that yet.
They plan to e-mail all entrants today with the details.

If you guys are interested in serious drag racing at the zone events we need to let the VCA know. This is the only participant competition (using your car) event of the weekend. The drag race the Texas guys planned prior to VOI is the way it should be run! I'll be glad to volunteer to organize some common classes given proper lead time, but you 45 participants need to let the VCA know if you just want to run some time trials or have an organized class structure and heads up racing, (like it should be)

Re: 45 Vipers regsitered to drag race at Midwest Rendevous

ET/bracket style is the easiest format of course. Wouldn't a multi class structure require an in depth tech check looking for gutted mufflers, cats, etc. etc.? I talked to one CA guy 6 yrs ago who had a number of 'hidden changes' to his 'stock class' 11 second(?) RT/10 Viper. Maybe an ET setup with a broader breakout would allow spirited competition without having to go back and park it in the pits just because you were .02sec over your dial-in.

Well, you have addressed both sides of the problem.
Heads up = More work but more fun. Classes can be created and inspected with visual tech. ie VOI and V10 Nats. Just takes some pre planning.

ET = No work but more frustration. It is a drivers race. doesn't showcase the performance of the vehicle.

In case anyone missed it, I called VCA-no non-Regional Rendevous registered spectators allowed. What do we pay $100yr for?!?!
