If my Bentley GT makes 520 turboed HP and 200 MPH stock, why can't my next SRT
beat it? Ask the factory, we need options.

i have a suggestion to the person who runs this site why dont we have a forum where we can talk to the srt people like dan knott or somebody. why cant we do a question and answer thing like once every month? then we would finnally get the answers to our quwstions.

Maybe it's because the Bentley GT costs around $100k more than the Viper?

Cost has nothing to do with it... gearing + aerodynamics (coupe vs convertible) would be my guess. Remember the Bentley weighs over 5,000 pounds.

We can't because of the language barrier... most of us don't speak winknod-ese. :D

Wasn't Dan Knott the landlord in Three's Company? :D

The bentley actually has a very low coefficient of drag, even though it is a big car it slips through the air much more efficiently than the viper. We have the aerodynamics of a brick. The coupe should do better.

Also, in this months R&T they did the standing mile. The winner was a viper TT be he who shall not be named. They had the top up and wind at 220 mph ripped the top off it's frame.

Cost has ZERO to do with it, it's all about aerodynamics (Vipers had good gearing w/ 3.07). While the GTS has a menecing "in your face"/Bad *** styling it flat out ***** in the aerodynamic sector.

I'll tell you this much. What ever the Bently doe's top out at, I'll bet it takes forever to reach it. I could care less about top speed if you need the Salt Flats to acheive it.

The Bently is so heavy. It's got to take forever for it to accelerate to that speed, if it can even get to it.

I also don't see the SRT being worse in aerodynamics. I just don't think it's that great.

The Viper compromised some of its aerodynamic drag coefficient for functional down force and higher engine cooling capacity.

Viper is not DC's top speed vehicle, its their track toy. Pretty sure you could take any one of Mercedes high horsepower tourers (like the SL65) and uncork that ridiculous 155mph governor to get top speeds well over 200.
