I say that this has to be the ONLY computation that you'd carry out to 12 digits other than those that relate to certain aspects of a female. :D :headbang: :D

What is the bore and stroke? With those we can calculate the actual CID. I would imagine that "8.4 L" is a rounded number.

Got the info.
2008
bore x stroke: 4.055 x 3.96 = 511.407 cid (8.377 L)

Dodge rounded up the liters so we'll round up the cid.

So we will go with 512.

Thanks for all the help you clowns.

Hey, I was not "clowning"around, the 8.4L approx was important...
Thou mathematically, if the 8.37 is 8.4, the 511.40 should be 511...
512 sounds better.

Well, based on centuries of established arithmetic (which I keep reminding my young kids I that I actually do use every day – they just don’t understand :confused: ), if the bore and stroke are precisely as Chuck stated (511.407 cid), that would be rounded down to 511.

8.377 does round up to 8.4, but 511.407 rounds down to 511.

For those of us with '03-'06 SRT-10s (which Dodge calls "8.3L"), we have "505" impressed on the air intake box. I'm sure someone (Chuck???) will check the bore & stroke numbers, but if it is equal to or less than 504.44444444444444444444…. cubic inches, then Dodge is slightly over exaggerating.

Hey Chuck, I’m sure there is a point to this post – what other stock “off the show room floor American cars” have ever been/are over 511 ci (anyone know???) :usa:

1L = 1000 cc and 61 cubic inches
8.4L X 61 cu.in. = 512.4 cu.in. Not sure how Dodge rounded.

1.00000 Liter = 61.02374 cubic inch to be exact. Before someone busts me,

8.4L x 61.02374 cu. in. = 512.6 cu.in.
