I don't get it, don't you want a gen 5 or what is wrong with 85K? If I was in the market and the price changed from 138k to 85...I didn't need to go to the dealer, I pick up the phone and ask where to throw the money at him and make sure nobody beats me too it.
If you think the deals are getting better, wake up, this car was sold in a day due to the idiot price drop, why should any dealer drop any further..they can hold onto it for one day longer after 2 years!
Because they want them off their lots.

No one is going to be paying near MSRP for a two model year old car. Period.

They sold the car 10 minutes before I got there. I talked to the guy who beat me to it, and he paid 85k on the head. They also sold the 14 GTS for 90k.
There will be plenty to go around shortly, it's only going to get better.

Ya snooze ya lose!

you believe the hellcat is going to affect viper sales? ok, winter coming. Dude, if in the market, go get one. You seem to be waiting forever for the magical deal. Heck, wait a couple more years and buy a used one. buy a used one now. In the end, what are you going to do, tell everyone how you are waiting for the deal or worse yet, get one and tell everyone about the deal you ended up getting. in the overall picture, you have others actually enjoying the car by driving it, which I believe is what they are good for...
Your wrong. With winter around the corner, new hellcat to hit the streets, it will get better.
December there will be some amazing deals.

What are you even talking about? All I said was "ya snooze ya lose" because you tire kicked around and had the car bought out from under you because you're waiting for some unicorn deal.

Good luck.

New Gen 5 GTS at 85 is great deal, even if you can not sell/trade it later....Just drive it and enjoy it...Their is local dealer that has a new Black SRT that I like,(114 MSRP) even though the Viper needs updating I may roll over and offer 80,000.00 cash for it and see if they take it....If they do,I,ll add another great machine on the cheap and just keep it...But,they just got it,so I think it will have to sit a little while for them to take 80,000.00....

Those interested in buying should be trying to do so now with the excellent prices. Supply of desired color and equipment combinations will dwindle. I checked the combo I purchased and the dealers with the cars are not trying to move the cars at fire-sale prices. I purchased 2 months before the $15k reduction in MSRP at a discount in excess of $15k from the local dealer who sold me my Gen IV Viper and that price is competitive. On the other hand, if a buyer is interested in a very common color/combo and there are many available, then prices will surely get even better as we get closer to 2015 production of TA and GTS Vipers.

I think the real windfall would be for someone who purchased a 2013 Viper, sold it to a private party before the $15k adjustment, and then bought another Gen V using the Voucher. Even then, in states like California the buyer will be paying >$10k in Sales Tax on two sales, so that should be considered as well. Cars like Vipers are never usually a good car to buy and sell within a short time.
