Nice piece, toss it in the trunk, instant 50 horse at the wheels!!!

What kind of jack is it? No clearance issues to get under the sills? What approx price is a jack that is low profile and does not need the 2X12 pick me up assistance??

thanks,

Hello,

Wow, the jack looks nice... Where can I buy that jack and do they have one in Red?

I got one from here http://www.geocities.com/genidude/hydraulicjacks2.html a few months ago. Prices start at $229 (its gone up a bit since i bought mine). I have the DK20Q (with Quick Lift Pedal). As far as I know, it only comes in blue (mine didn't come with the cool viper stickers on it). The saddle height is only 3.1 inches and you can get a rubber pad for the saddle for $19. Easily clears the side sills on my GTS. Call to see if they have them in stock. It took about 3 weeks to recieve.

Did the nylon cap for your jack come with the Jack? Or can I buy this piece seperately...I intend to use your trick of driving up onto a 2x6, then use my existing floor jack...Same question for the jack stands...

Lastly, if you wanted to raise the entire front or rear, would you jack each side, or, find a point in the center of the car (intuitively, center location makes sense) and raise the entire front/rear then place jack stands...

thanks

OK, so does this jack have a special shape where it meets the car? I have only jacked my Viper once to replace the battery, but hope to do more stuff...I used the handy dandy jack from the trunk, cuz it fit right onto the D ring which is welded to the frame...And cleared the side sill...

I can't imagine being able to jack on the designated jack point with a standard floor jack...Even using a piece of wood would seem unsafe and might harm the side sill...

Dumb question I know, but I want to get it right...

Do we not need to jack on the designated jack point, therefore a regular floor jack (notwithstanding clearance issues) will work? Would I still not want to protect the frame from scratching?

I use a standard jack at the designated jackpoints. I usually drive onto a 2x6 to get the clearance, and I have a nylon cap for the jack to protect the car. My jack has the cup type end, and I don't have any problems with it, as the "d" from the jack ring on the car sits into the "cup" on my floor jack. I do use jack stands with protectors on them as well, as soon as I get her in the air.
