Is anyone running this high of wattage in their low beams? Will the wiring harness handle it?

Lethal.No heat problems either?I have used 80/100 in my PU truck for more than 5 years.Was afraid to try high wattage bulbs in the Viper due to heat possibly ruining the light housings. GTS Bruce

OK here's the skinny guys.
PIAA 9005
Xtreme White Plus
4000K
HB3 12v 60w->120W
Now I'm not sure if that means they are 120v or 60v.
The 120 is in bold, however have been a major improvement and noticably brighter than stock (buddies still runnin stock). 2years+ and no sign of yellowing or heat damage. Not as bright as HID's, but not too far off.

lol, it means you are using a dual element bulb in you low beam ;-) You are only getting the 60V, the 120, is if you could kick it over to high beam, which you cant do. Thanks for letting us know. the ones I have work the best then, becasue they are single element 65w.

In reality, PIAA says that their bulbs (the ones you have) draw the same amount of voltage and in essence are 60 Watts, but due to their filament type, they supposedly generate the lumens of a 120 Watt bulb. Thats why you see the two numbers on the bulb and its packaging. Here is a link to the corporate website, about the light bulb in question:

Or, you could get a lot brighter and drop your power consumption to 35W per bulb, by going to HID.

I've got a set of 100W high beams and the 35W HID low beams - the HID's are brighter - too bad HID power-on times aren't appropriate for high beams.
