I recently purchased a 94 RT/10. The passenger seat cushion does not securely attach to the passenger seat. Is this normal? I have examined the seat, and nothing appears damaged or broken. Whe I lift the seat cushion, it comes right off and reveals the frame. I noticed a rolled lap belt tucked away and thought that maybe it removes for a child seat (although who would put a child seat in a viper???)

Please advise!

First, that belt is indeed an extra one for a child seat. I recently removed mine when I lower my seats because I saw no use for it.

Second, the reason your seat isn't locked is the little metal tab on the bottom of the cushion has not been locked into place. You need to either extend it and reach under the front of the seat to snap it in place while pushing down on the front of the cushion or tie a string or zip tie to the metal tab and pull it down and forward with that

here's the tab I'm talking about:

and here it is with the cushion properly installed and the tab pulled down and forward to snap onto the seat itself:

she hates McVipers, so I don't see that happening...

you have to check out my car since I reworked the cooling system and lowered the seats about 2 inches. the thing runs real cool and the lowered seats make it more fun to drive (new windshield helped too).

Alright, I've found the wire form tucked up in the seat cushion. Now, is there a special trick or tool to pull it around the frame??? I tried for about 30 min with no success. There isn't room to get a screwdriver in there to pry it over. do you wrap string aound and pull down? I hope someone has a trick! HELP

I just replaced both my seat cushions today after taking the seats out to vaccuum under them. If you sit in the seat on your knees, it pushes the cushion down a little bit and that may help you be able to pry it over. I was able to get a screwdriver under the driverseat and that helped a lot, but had to use good ol' brute force on the passenger seat.

Focus all of your energy on just getting one corner done rather than trying to latch it from the center. I needed to use a screw driver also but it took a while to find one that was just the right length.

Very easy as carguy said - Just wrap a piece of rope around the metal tab and thread it under the front of the seat and pull - and voila!

Its more fun if you do like I said and put your knees in the seat and bend your neck down and fiddle with the bar. The blood rushing to your head is a real high :p
