96 - 99 recall

I just received a recall notice for 96-99 to repair my vehicles steering gear crossmember and differential mounting bracket, Has anyone ever had this done? what is involved? are they gonna mess up my car? I really need to know of a reputable dealership in my area, I am in Massachusetts 01469, Does anyone know of a good dealer near me or do I really need to do this recall? I really don't want anyone messing with my car ((((((what to do?))))))) any info would help me sleep better thanks

On my 00GTS the steering rack is perfect and I don't race the car,so I didn't want to have someone mess with it.

What i did was to order the parts ($50) for the recall and just save them.

If 1 day I want to do it or if i sell the car and the new owner want it to be done,Safery Recall being good forever,i will just have a dealer do it free of charge.

Parts;

Reinforcement kit CAAM9981 list $ 39.17
Crossmember CAAM9983 list $ 24.00

I just had the 999 recall done a few weeks ago at Tator's Dodge. Fortunately, I'm only 30 miles from South Salem NY and Chuck (Mr. Viper Wizard) did the work. I was lucky to get in line early and his work was perfect. I could have taken it to another dealer about 15 minutes away but, like you, I wanted it done by someone I trust.

You might want to consider going out of your way on this one. Chuck has a number of recalls under his belt already and it will be done right. His schedule is probably full till early Spring but you should give him a call.

Thanks for the info, with bad weather starting here in mass I might have to wait until spring, but maybe I will have it shipped.
I just don't trust anyone near my car, thats why I don't mind paying to ship if Its a dealer that everyone has had luck with, Has anyone ever heard anything about Fitzgerld motorsports in Laconia NH?
