Question about installing the new 1/4 panel. It appears that the upper leading edge of the existing 1/4 panel is glued to the panel you see when you open the door.

I know I am not doing a great job of explaining this one, but does anyone know about this? My problem is how to remove the 1/4 panel from the black panel in the door jam? My guess it you can't remove without damaging the door jam panel, so do I need to order new door jam panels also?

thanks

Hey Tomer,
Are you talking about the rear quarter panel just behind the drivers side? If I remember right, they have rivets, and I am guess, but I would think you would have to drill them out from the door jam and the rear whell. Check in the trunk too, look to the top of the inside and you might see three more, but before you do anything drastic, I would confirm or coorect anything I say. Call JonB, he is the guru.

Thanks WildDude! I will check with JonB!

By the way, how did you get such a "non gappy" hood on your 96 RT/10? I have the white with blue stripes, and my hood is pretty gappy, above the headlights I mean.

Did you ever have any adjustments made, or did your car some this way?

Hey Tomer,
There was a thread a while back how to mess with the adjustment brackets just under the hood as it is unlatched. If you try to adjust them all the way down, it won't allow the hood to latch properly. Mine worked out with a small adjustment (1/4 inch) down from the top. It shut clean. Hope this helps, and let me know haw everything works out.

Yah, I tried adjusting the hood latches, I got the hood lowered and shrunk the gap above the headlights, but not enough. THen the hood was below the line of the front facia, which looked silly. Also the gap between the front facia and the hood is a little large.

I have been told that the facia, headlights and hood all move independantly...Anyone have any advice here, its a nit but I see
it daily and wish Dodge had done a better QA job. I know from the original owner that there has been no accidents or repairs requiring removal of the facia...So must have been this way from the factory.

FYI,

If you bottom out or scrape the front facia, you can loosen up the facia mounting bolts, which will result in hood/facia gap.

The hood is only adjustable up and down with the latches. The facia nuts can be tightend up to bring the facia up. The headlamps can be shimmed to close the gap between hood and headlamp.

Thanks Ulysses!

So here is the Q, it appears ALL vipers I have seen have a very tight line between the facia and the bottom of the headlights, like its actually touching...So to maintain that, I don't
think I can move the facia/headlights together very much before
the facia won't be aligned with the front of the hood...

THis is not easy to describe, but its frustrating...Maybe I need
to try to persuade a local guru (like Ted May) here in the Bay
Area to take a look at it for me, but I can't afford to spend a boatload of dough on it.

Hey Tomer,
not that it is any help now, but I will be in the bay area around the May time frame and will help out any way I can. I'll be staying in Concord with family. Just email me around that time to get together.
