96 RT Cooling system

I am having some heat problems with my car. Can someone please (in simple terms) explain the function of the Coolant Recovery Bottle and what level changes I should see when the car is off, running warm, running hot. I believe I understand the rest of the cooling system.

Jess, Do a search on posts by my name - 95Viper. I went through a crazy experience with my 95 and through all the people on this board I learned all about the system and how to fix the heat issue. Could be coolant cap, punctured bottle, air in system, push on fittings needing little clamps, type of coolant, etc. Craig
