you could find a older RT for around 24K with no title issues, you did pretty good at 23500 IMO with the title issues and the fit and finish...turn that frown upside down :)

I'm actually beginning to get hopeful again. Seeing Vipers go for the mid 20Gs makes me think I actually could afford one sooner rather than later. Congrats on the sale. She's a beauty.

Well this is what I have found since ownership of my 2000 ACR in the past two years. I got a pretty good deal at the time. However most cars going for 30-35k have the following issues:
1. Tires (2k)
2. All new fluids needed
3. Pray the clutch doesn't need to be replaced.

I have invested 5k in maintenance on what I do consider a well cared for car (tires were expensive and had to get them in Canada due to my US plates expiring upon immigration to Canada). So they were closer to 2700. I had to replace the entire clutch system (1900).

Part of the reason SOME of the cars end up being cheap is because people think they finally can afford one and then realize they can't spend on the normal maintenance for owning a 10-20 year old car. This is IMO of course. Hope you get your Viper but realize it isn't as "cheap" once other factors are brought into the equation. I paid cash but if I didn't I would have already sold it.

Then also there are things like the motors in the windows dying, AC problems, and any other problem that would normally cost 50 bucks to fix but now is hundreds due to supply issues. I probably won't be doing the mods I intended but as long as she looks pretty and drives right, I am a happy guy.

Yea I know I've heard Viper maintenance is high as hell. Honestly I hope to get one someday but I'm not holding my breathe. Especially the way things are right now it might be damn near impossible. Being hopeful and being realistic are two different things and trust me my friend I luckily know the difference. :) For now I guess I get to live vicariously through all of you who are lucky enough to own them.

That car sounds like it has one too many stories for most buyers. Im sure you will find a buyer but high 20's with a rebuilt title is crazy. With a perfect title high 20's would be a challenge in the condition (from your pics) that the cars in. IMO Good luck with your sale

I have seen tons go for under 19k with clean titles. But I don't really care if I get another rebuilt as long as the price is right and it passes PPI and my inspection :2tu:

anything you saw listed under 19k was either on ebay with "RESERVE NOT MET" or a scam!!

Nah, I'm just a deal finder :)

When I get on a computer tomorrow I will post some links (I'm on my phone now)

But in just the past month or so that I had my gts posted I found 4 Srt10's that sold between 27k-35k (they all were clean titles and I ran carfax's on all 4 of them, and all of then had under 35k miles) they all sold within a day or two since I found them so I wasn't able to purchase them.

just fyi for all:
I just bought a two owner 97' GTS with 19k for 30k. mint. like 9.8/10
bolster had a wear spot the size of a dime and there is minor scuff under the front end.

I personally wouldnt buy a rebuilt title unless it was a crazy sick deal.. which appears the new owner got. although i dont know enough details like did it need tires? did the a/c work? how much did it really need for the front end to be correct? and the airbag issue would drive me nuts.

I'm guessing it would be thousands to fix it all.. then you're right back up to 30k.. but now you have a perfect GTS with a rebuilt title and no one really knows the true history???

my suggestion to potential viper owners.. be patient, have your finances in order and search for them daily. good ones are out there but they're getting stupid hard to find.

There was a black 94 RT for sale in L.A. on Craigslist a couple weeks ago for $19,500, salvage. Description said younger brother drove it up onto curb and damaged front fascia, was repaired. I can't remember the mileage on it, but it sold.

LOL I love when people use stories like that when selling a salvage car, those I stay FAR away from. I don't mind a rebuilt like I said, it just has to be done right, and not have any frame damage!

I am sure anyone could steal this car if they had CASH! This car has been for sale here in Michigan for about 3 years! I looked at it online when I purchased my first RT way back when. High miles, but has the autoform top and spoiler. I have NO idea on the history of the car, but if someone is interested I would be willing to take a drive and check it out!

Hey sorry to bring this topic back alive, but just curious, could my old viper have been one of the 7 with gold wheels previously?
