97 GTS Fan Shroud Louvers / Plastic “Doors”

So a couple of these plastic “doors” that just “snap” in to the fan shroud next to the fan have departed my GTS. Has anyone else experienced this? I have not been able to find replacements. They are a pretty simple design. When the GTS is idling and not moving, these really seem to help keep the car from overheating. Any thought or ideas? Anyone? Anyone?

I might be able to 3D print some replacements. I have mine I could look at and make up a 3D model that would probably look close. I can use the ones I took off mine as a template. I have a large 3D printer that could make several of these at once. Only initial concern would be temperature. I need to make sure I use a material that will not melt or get brittle as we know the engine bay get pretty warm. Let me know if you want me to look into it more.

Hey Chad, I actually have a buddy that is going to attempt to 3D print one, we discussed the temperature bay issue so he is aware of that, it will be interesting to see how it turns out and if it will hold up in the heat. I actually have 2 of those pieces missing. I’m sure all the Gen 2 vipers have them, and maybe the Gen 1’s, but I haven’t looked at the 1’s. The design was changed with the introduction of the Gen 3’s.

I will definitely be back here with updates and pictures on the printed parts and if they seem to work or if they melt/deform from the hot engine bay. There are a total of 4 of these per fan shroud for the Gen 2’s.
