Buffalo wings? Or those rediculous spoilers I have seen on rice??? Don't think those are available for vipers...

Determine the Actual color you want on the car first. Unless its Red as that is available most all years. Then you can hunt down the year vehicle you fall into. ABS is a great feature to have. I don't have it but I like it on my other vehicles. The cream reference only seems to pop up under exhaust mods. The earlier cars respond to them a little better. But stock for stock they are all putting down the advertised factory HP.

The quickest magazine test of a Viper (so far) was with a 2000 R/T10 (creampuff) at 11.77@118MPH.

I like the steel gray color as well.
Choose the car, style, and color, and everything else will work out because they are ALL fast. That's how they are built.

What will likely consume you the most (other than just enjoying the car) will be how to make it faster still.
No matter how fast it is stock.

The 99 or older cars are only "better" if you want to push over 5psi from a non-intercooled blower. In stock NA form they are all so [******] close. By the color you want unless you plan on doing extensive $$$ mods.

In the Kansas City Club, the strongest STOCK Dyno HP car is a 2000. But when the Mods come into play, the earlier cars come alive.

With the price of Supercharging finally being affordable, the forged piston cars are becoming more popular.

If you are not stuck on Steel Gray, I would buy a forged piston car, or jump up one year and get an ABS car.

I've driven a 94, 95 RT/10, 98, 99, 00, and 02 GTS. Trust me when I say that NO Viper is a creampuff!! They are all bad to the bone, with no other objective in mind than going like hell, stopping like hell, and cornering like hell. Oh, and they look ok too. :D

You have to move up two years to get ABS. You forget 00 has nothing good but steel grey! lol The only real reason to get 99 and down is if you want to spray it or put a blower on it. Other than that, the cast pistons are lighter and fit better, so a creampuff with ABS is great. I'm gonna do a supercharger eventually, so I wanted the old school stuff in my new car. I blew the helll out of my 01. 9 busted pistons! 9 of 10!!!

I also like the roughness of the pre-00 years. I don't care for the smoothness, both riding and running of the newer ones.

First time at the track last night driving a "creampuff" 00 RT/10. Only mods are tubes and catback. Ran a 12.6 @ 114 mph. The "creampuff" 01 RT/10 next to me (Roe SC, cam, and rockers) ran 11.1 @ 134 mph. Both with street tires, tops off, and windows down. Not bad for rookies driving creampuffs. I agree with the others, find the color and options you want and don't worry about the year.

A 100 shot should be no problem. The cars aren't weak by any means, the older ones are just stronger when it comes to forced induction.

The newer the better. The 00 creampuff status is really a wash due to the chaning of the lifters from what I have read.
