Great Pic. I have a co-worker that has a Shelby Cobra kit car. It has about 100 more ponies than my GEN 1, but his is EXTREMELY squirrely. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a close race.

Love it :2tu: I've been lusting for a Gen4 lately to keep my GTS company but when I see shots like this and the Gen1 thread I sometimes wonder if an RT/10 may actually be what I really want.:dunno:

Nice Pic Chad! Did you just pass him OR is he fixing to pass you?

Thanks Gerry, I'm passing him. It took me a couple laps though, finally got him on the front straight away.

I rode in a Tampa VCA guy's Cobra kit car a few years ago. When he hit the gas, I thought the frontend was gonna come off the ground! All power, no weight.

I fixed it! This is how you remember it right?

Close, I remember a few "Go Chad Go" and "I love you Chad" signs scattered throughout the crowd as well :D

To be fair, I did sign autographs for everyone afterwards. I only posed with pics w/the ******* girls though :D

Fantastic shot! Ironic that it is of a gen 1 (well, kinda...) with the car that inspired it.

Thank ya sir. I was looking for another pic in my photobucket account when I found this one.

If you haven't, be sure to drive an RT/10 on a beautiful day before making a decision. Since you already have a GTS, I'm thinking you'd like the open air feel of an RT :2tu:

Great photo! I'm surprised they let you run w/o helmets?

I've done this event a couple times in my dad's Vette (before I bought the Viper) and 3 or 4 times in the Viper. They've never required helmets, which surprises me as well.

Great picture Chad!

Regarding other posts about a Cobra or an RT/10, I'll take an RT/10 over a Cobra replica any day. I've been in a Superformance Cobra at 156 mph at Charlotte and it was a very nervous car at that speed. The Viper has no such problem, and it has a/c. And a roof. And door locks.

I love the looks of the old Cobras, but after reading what Shelby American employees thought of the build quality of the AC bodies, I'll stay with my Viper. :)
