I actually heard, from a very reputable source, that the MSRP would be 92,999 for the non-ACR version.
Ok so I made that up, but I don't see any way they increase the MSRP by nearly 50%. That's just insane.

At 137K they'll be sitting on the lots and Gens 1, 2, 3, and 4 will increase in value.

well i agree but it didn't stop them from bumping the jeep a ton and this will be a new marque..SRT brand so we will see for sure in march, if i'm right you heard it here first-LOL

Actually, I have posted $125k or more many times. As far as a 50% increase. Though when it is put in those terms, lets consider the percentage increase that happened on the Jeep SRT-8. Wasn't it about 50%?

If the gen IV coupes were at a high $90k MSRP, with all this new stuff, I actually won't be surprised if this dollar figure is accurate. These are very expensive items. Especially the carbon fiber body.

If the looks, style and performance are a home run, I don't think they'll have any problem selling the Viper at this $$ level. A lot of people actually think if the Viper costs more than the most expensive Vette model, then it must be better.....just human nature.
Don't forget the rest of the world....I'm guessing 200 cars to China, 200 cars to the Middle East, 100 cars to Canada and 50 cars to Europe. If they build 1500 units the first year, that would leave approximately 1000 units for the USA. If the Gen 5 sets a new performance bar for the rest of the rear wheel drive competitors to chase, they won't have any problem getting the price.

We now live ina world where a fully optioned z07 package z06 is 98k.

If the Viper continues its legacy as the ultimate halo car, 2 steps ahead of the next American sportscar, and compete against the exotics of the world, then that price range is not out of question. Would I pay it - YES!... but can I pay it is another question.
I'm conflicted on the pricing for the Gen 5. On one hand I'd like to see sub 100k so that personally - the vehicle is attainable. On the other hand, I'd like to see it priced out of reach for most to maintain its halo/exotic image. With any luck my plan to is pick up a Gen 5 in about 2-3 years. If the pricing is sub 100k it will be new, otherwise I'll have to settle for pre-owned.

I'm thinking $120,000. If it's higher then I can continue to drive my Gen 4 for free.
I look at it this way, the Corvette is horribly overpriced. A Shelby Mustang is quite a bit under these costs and well 650HP says a lot. If you are only planning on selling 1,000 to 1,500 of the cars a year, they are not your big money maker. They are your halo car to get people in the showrooms and on the lots. You like what you see innthe SRT Viper, well for a lot less you can still have some of the magic in a SRT Jeep or a SRT Challenger or a SRT whatever. That is the point of it.
I am anticipating the base price will be just $95K to just under $100K and options price, like Porsche, Ferarri and other high end manufacturers, the sky is the limit. If we want it our way, Dodge will built it, but for a cost, which is the way it should be anyway. It truly builds on that one of one pursuit, finatics like myself seek. We get nervous if our special vehicle is anything greater than one of one. My only hope is either I win Powerball and can buy a new one or someone out there has my exact tastes and options up a one of one car an decides to sell it after a few years.
Even though the Shelby is a Mustang, and in a different league, do NOT count out the fact it has 650HP and does over 200 mph. That is a major play considering it is cheaper. There are lots of owners who like to have the car and brag without ever pushing it to it's limits. Not everyone hits the track or even pushes their cars to the limit. I am positive, that the 650HP Shelby changed some of the direction of SRT with the new Viper. It had to if Viper wants to truly be on top. If the Viper comes out with more cubes, then fully expect the Corvette to immediately abandon the smaller cubic inch motor rumors and pony up to a 454 level motor from their 427 motor. What choice do they really have?

My jaw hit the floor when I saw that a new ZO6 goes for 100K. So the A gen 5 viper going for north of 120K doesn't seem that bad. If you can afford it.
If the Gen. V crosses over and appeals to buyers in the different competing markets (porsche/ferrari/corvette) which is their intent, you might not be able to get your hands on one for $136,999.
I just hope the new price is wrong, otherwise it looks like the price on Gen. IVs will be going up and my chance to buy a used Gen. IV will be going down.

thier will be alot of differant car buyers that had never thought of getting a dodge viper before- you think these current ones are all that.wait till you see this next one- like the statement above, thats why it will be big bucks,they want some differant people in this hobby- mix it up- low volume car also

If it is, the car becomes a diseconomic proposition. Used Gallardos (even with supercharging or twin turbos), used Ferraris, Ford GTs and others become the competition. The next ZRI Vette will then undercut the Viper by $10-15k for comparable performance.
The price point for the Gen V Viper coupe is $95k well-optioned, and $115k maxed-out for the ACR, and both models really need 700hp.
