I have a mostly stock 03 SRT-10. I have performed the following:
1. K&N filter
2. Modified Exhaust
a. Eliminated secondary CAT, replced with straight pipe
b. Replaced OEM muffler with 16" Bullit Mufflers
c. Eliminated crossover

I understand that most SRT-10 run rich, so I would like to ensure that my car is tuned to get the max possible horsepower and torque.

I have read that a VEC2 can produce 25-50 rwhp and about 50ft/pds of torque while smooothing out the air/fuel ratio throughout the powerband.

Has anyone installed a VEC2 on a mostly stock SRT-10 to verify this?
Does it void the warranty?
Any negative concerns?

The VEC2 cost about $1000.00 and if the claims were true, would make it a very good "bang for the buck" mod.

Thanks in advance

The VEC WILL work for your needs. I installed one a couple of weeks ago and it delivered good results. Simple install and easy to understand tuning. I've yet to get it on the dyno to confirm results but will do that next week probably. I'll load the stock program, dyno, and load the new program, and dyno again.

Go for it.. great bang for the buck for 1K..

nevrenuf,

Thanks for the response. Please post your dyno results when you get them. I am interested to see if you get the 35 rwhp and 50 ft/lbs torque gain.

The Vec2 will definately address those items. The SRT engines do indeed run rich. I've attached at AF table from my dyno last week.

As far as voiding warranty. I'd say, by the book, yes it could void the warranty on your engine - but it depends on the relationship you have with you tech ;)
