STAY away from AC delco at all costs. Their life span is the worst of them all. Everytime I bought a GM car in the past, the first thing to go was the battery. Sears gold die hard is a good choice.

For the Viper, I've only used the stock battery. It fits, at least, and goes bad after about four or five years, but I can live with that.

I'll second a recommendation against AC Delco batteries - I got an average of 14 months with them - worst ones I've had the displeasure of using.

I'll also second Sears Gold DieHard. Other DieHards aren't worth the name, but you do actually get closer to your money's worth with the more expensive Sears Gold DieHard - at least I did with the one I had in another car. I lost the alternator belt and ran a total-loss system for a full week of 20 mile round-trip commutes (with headlights, heater blower, windshield wipers, and stereo) on my '88 RX-7 convertable before I noticed things were getting dimmer, then popped the hood and found pieces of my belt all over the place.

I've had good luck with Interstate batteries, also.

I have an AC Delco that works a helluva lot better than the OE "burping" battery and 3 Optimas. Interstate didn't have a no maintenance battery that would fit Vipers when I was looking and the DieHards were also maintenance batteries. This is a must on GTS's because it is such a PITA to get to. Another consideration is that battery trays are not wleded in a uniforma manner, so fitting on them is different with each car.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I decided to go the optima route and picked one up over the weekend (redtop 75/35). My mechanic that sells ACDelco said their batteries weren't completely sealed and could still leak. So that made my decision :)
