I've been lurking for a long time and trying to decide which Viper to get. After seeing pictures of the ACR and saw it in person for the first time at last year's Chicago Autoshow, I have pretty decided the ACR is for me. So I'm now ready to pull the trigger and wonder what is a fair price for a new ACR? MSRP or under?

MSRP is pretty much the standard deal on an ACR, and you should have no issue finding that. Under MSRP - who knows - maybe if you are lucky, or maybe the down economy will make dealers more willing to negotiate. As far as I know, demand is still generally outstripping supply for the ACR, which means no discounting (but in a strong economy you can bet ACRs would be hit with an ADM, so consider it "discounted" at MSRP!).
As Raven states, I'd go with a dealer mentioned here on the VCA forums that supports the club. That way, you know they'll actually be able to get the car. Mom and Pop dealer might be willing to offer a crazy deal, but might not have allocation to ever get the car.

The high demand for the ACR was waned a little, you should be able to negotiate a better deal now
MSRP was the deal when they came out, but now you can get around $5K off. Even though I paid full sticker for mine, the car is worth much more to me. I absolutely love it, and have no regrets paying sticker. To me, the car is a bargain considering it's capabilities. If you find a rare color, it would probably be a MSRP deal. If you find Black or Red, you should be able to get a good deal.

The delays for 08 are likely to be similar for 09 and with the track credentials demand appears to be staying very high -- pretty cool that the latest MT is showing another killer romp over VIR , bested only by a 350K kit race car that weighs 800+ lbs less.

Dealers ordering them will encounter a red band stating the vehicle is under restriction -- a new order is just going to float around ,currently.
Some are already picked up ( have actual Vin numbers ) under allocation, but those too will be delayed, though they will be built.

I'm very sure that has absolutely nothing to do with it. Production on the ZR1 has not been halted other than the Corvette plant is on a 1 or 2 week shutdown because of all the C6's sitting in dealer inventory, regular C6's and ZO6's. Any other rumor about the ZR1 is BS. What would this have to do with it anyway. If the ACR is in high demand I would think they would produce them if they can. Chrysler probably has to sell about 4-5 other cars to make the profit they do on 1 ACR. They're certainly not going to make money if they don't produce and sell cars.
Thank you all for the sound advise which helped me make the deal happen today with a dealer in Florida for a little under sticker. Now comes the sleepless nights waiting for the car to make it across the Highway 10 to California. I agree with all of you that even at MSRP or even higher, the ACR is a great deal. I also was looking at the ZR1 but there's no deals to be had and the ACR will end up being a better (or less worse) investment anyway.
