I am looking at a 96 GTS that is in Pennsylvania a few hundred miles from where I live sold from a dealer. I asked if there was anything I should know about before I make the trip out to look over this 7500 mile B\W (2 owner) GTS and they said that one day they went out and it would not start, and it turned out they needed to get a "module" replaced and now it is fine.

My question is, does anyone know if replacing ignition modules on this 96 are common or if it is a sign of anything else to come?

Trying to decide if this car has more unforeseen problems and if I should just move on. I also thought it was a little interesting that it already had 2 owners (dealer is the 3rd) with only 7500 miles...it has the owners manual but no other docs or service records.

did they just mean starter module as in the starter itself?

call Chuck Tator (tatorsdodge.com). if you have the VIN he can give you the history, including maintenance.

Thanks Chuck. The salesman said "module" needed to be replaced because it would not start. I will get the VIN#.

Thank you!
