An Evening at the Races​

​

We would like to invite all of our PA/WV Region Viper members to join us for an evening at Hollywood Casino/Penn National Race Track in Grantville, PA on Saturday, February 20, 2010 for our ‘After the Holidays’ party.

The party will kick off at the Comfort Suites around 4PM where we will assemble to travel over to Penn National.

We will be having dinner at the casino with a view of the horse track. Races start at 6PM and we will be seated for dinner at that time. Meals will be at the member’s expense and we will be ordering directly from the Mountainview Terrace menu.
After dinner we can remain in the dining room to watch the races, wander into the casino for some gambling, or walk out to the paddocks to see the horses saddled and prepped before races.

It is a beautiful facility and there’s a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains that we know you all will enjoy.

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Comfort Suites on 450 Station Road, Grantville, less than a mile from the Casino. We have booked them for Friday, the 19th and Saturday, the 20th. You may stay both nights or Friday or Saturday only with checkout scheduled for Sunday the 21st. We have also reserved a meeting room at the hotel in which we can gather for our first meeting of 2010, following our dinner and a couple of hours at the Casino. Everyone that will be staying at the hotel is required to call the Comfort Suite and make their own reservation. Please tell them that you are booking under the Viper Club of America to get special pricing. The rooms are $71 per night. As mentioned before, rooms have been set aside for Friday and Saturday but you do not have to reserve both nights. Any remaining rooms not booked after February 10th will be released and there is no guarantee of vacancy after that date. The phone number to reserve your room is 717-469-8181. We plan to attend but it's been a while since I've raced a horse. I'll have to brush up on that.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Who else is coming? Ian, Tom? Ian, if it wasn't the middle of winter, you could putz along with your 1,000 or so horses. I'm only bringing about 200 but they'll get us there.

I am guessing that most everybody will bring their daily driver, right now the roads around here look a lot like the Salt Flats.....kind of a preview for our trip to Utah

Motorama runs that weekend if anyone is interested. If you where never there it is a good indoor motorsport event. My rock crawler will be there. That is only 20 minutes from our meeting place. That is another reason to come to Harrisburg.
