Simple solution is the rear muffler delete system, not as costly as a Cat-Back exhaust.
If interested, send me a PM as I have one for sale.

Perfect sound, IMHO, is Corsa with Randomtech cats. Not loud when cruising but good sounding loudness on acceleration and deceleration. You can get others that are LOUD!! , though.

agreed, have the same set up, no drone is a huge plus.

Same setup here on my 98. The loud sounds you want, with out the nerve jangling drone that can literally loosen your fillings. After trying the Borla--which I did like, I went for a Corsa, which I love!

I guess drone is in the ear of the beholder, on my 99 GTS I have headers in to 3" pipes out the back, no cats or mufflers, sounds great. And the 2 foot flame out the back is an added bonus.

I had B&B on my '99 ACR (side mufflers & rear X pipe), sounded really nice but not too loud.
I have Mopar on my '00 GTS (side mufflers & rear straight pipes), much louder than B&B.

High flow cats will open up a lot of noise, cracking and burbling sounds; they will also lower side sill temps. If you're on stock cats, I highly suggest them.

The rear muffler delete system is lame (for the cost). If you want to do that, save a fortune and just take out the rear mufflers yourself and put in straight pipes (Dirt cheap from all your local auto stores). This is another Viper tax money grab. I did the rear straight pipes before I got my catback, and it was about $40 (Canadian, haha). I would go that route if the catback system isn't in the budget yet...that rear muffler delete kit would go a long way towards a proper catback.

If memory serves me, the Mopar is made by Borla and is probably the loudest, but also has the most drone. The reason I asked if you had a coupe or roadster was the GTS is more sensitive to drone issues as compared to the RT/10. It has to do with the roadster trunk absorbing some of the resonance.

Best advice is to get out there an hear them in person, if that is an option. That's what I did many years ago and went with a full B&B set up and I love the way it sounds.

And for the record, the rear muffler delete is probably the best bang for buck mod. I originally installed one that had and "H" pipe. The sound/performance gain per dollar was by far the best value. I ended doing a full system along with ported heads, otherwise, I might still have it on the car.
