Thanks Janni,

I am not familiar with the HF jack. I paid $700.00+ fro my Al jack only difference is the capacity 3600 lbs weight 37lbs. 3 pump.

One thin to remember the fluid needs to be replaced regularly like a few times per year. I do it once/yr. Failure to change may cause damage to the internal components. I think moisture get absorbed by the fluid.

have seen the 2 jacks side by side and the Costco jack is a bit higher quality / heavier duty than the one from Harbor Freight. The Costco jack appeared to have aluminum castings for sides, while the HF jack had flat pieces of aluminum painted with a metallic paint, and then had an anodized aluminum handle. The piston was slightly smaller in the HF jack, as were the wheel mounts. Some of the features were not quite as robust. This probably accounts for the $40 difference as the HF jack is $199 and the Costco jack is $239. I have seen the Costco jack avertised on the web for $499.

The picture on the HF website is the one of the Costco available jack and the actual one a friend bought from there was slgihtly different. My guess is that their suppiers may change so you may not always get the same thing...

Out Costco just got a shipment of jacks - BLUE - for $239....
