Ok guys, I did a search regarding alarms going off for no apparent reason. Mine's been doing it the last few days. I actually took it to the dealer and they kept the car overnight, and ofcourse it didnt go off. They told me they couldnt do anything unless the alarm went off while there. Service advisor told me they informed Dodge of the problem I was having. Now, it seems people that have had this issue in the past, found the hood switch to be the culprit. If thats the case, the dealer should have known about this issue, esp if they contacted Dodge about this right?

I'm gonna print up a couple of the threads I found concerning this issue and bring it down to the dealer myself, and show them:mad:.

More then likely it is the hood switch! And that Dealer DID NOT call Chrysler about your problem!:bsm:

Give me a call and I'll walk you through the adjusting of the hood switch so you can do it your self!

Chuck:

Saw your post about the hood switch causing alarm problems. I just got an 04 Viper and have been having the alarm go off randomly. Most of the time it is in the garage and not locked, however I am afraid to lock it anywhere as the alarm goes off so frequently.

Does adjusting the hood switch apply to the 04?

My 04's alarm goes off randomly too. Usually in any thing more than a light wind.

Started right after I replaced the stock hood with an lighter, Autoform CC hood.

I'd like to know the fix too and suspect the switch.

Dan, you need to adjust the hood switch. Todd at A&C adjusted the switch so it sat higher and pushed the switch further downward so the alarm wouldn't go off.
