We had a similar experience last Saturday night. My wife and I went out for a cruise to enjoy the cool, ideal top down roadster evening weather now starting in Ocala, and we were just about two miles or so from returning home. We stopped at a red light, had the left turn signal on, and the left turn light goes green at the stoplight for us. I just started to pull out into the intersection, but locked 'em up when I happend to look left. Here comes this white pick up truck doing at least 45 to 50 mph, right through the red light. Good thing I was not quick on that light or I would have been wearing a Ford truck emblem on my forehead. To top that off, I backed up again so I was not sticking out at the intersection, and the light turned red again for us. After a short wait for the light to turn green for our left turn, which it did, I waited a bit once more before pulling out. Here comes another truck (actually a van), and he is locking up his brakes and skidding right up to the red light, I think he was severely overloaded. A least he managed to stop right at the light, but two in a row is just too much for one night out crusing. Got home, parked the car, and just thanked God that we were not hit. You have to drive defensiveley out there, even at red lights. Be careful out there, there's a lot of people not paying attention to what they are doing and I don't want to be a statistic, especially not a dead one!
