I pull the alternator out to go get it tested, and I took it to two different part shops... and as luck would have it, I get Dumb N' Dumber.... one guy says yeah! it's crankin' just fine!14amps! (but you may want to get it rechecked, as our machine has been on the blink) lol... so I go down the street, and the guy there takes about 15 minutes to hook it up.... says it's his first time using the machine... and then tells me Nope! only pushing about 3 amps.... lovely!

The car sat for about 2 1/2 months.... battery croaked... I put a brand new one in, ran fine for about a week.... then it wouldn't start... I had to jump it to start it... while running, the car would idle real weak.... the battery light stays on.... is there anything else this could be... before I go fork out for a new Alternartor? Sounds dead on like an Alt. problem... but just wanted to get some second opinions... thanks for the input guys.

Sounds like the alternator to me, but if possible, i'd get a 3rd *intelligent* (I dont think you're 1st two qualify as intelligent and i'm not always the brightest Christmas decoration in the front yard either lol) opinion on the alternator just to be sure if possible.

If my memory is right, these alternators are around 100amps to allow for a smaller battery(weight savings). May try a code reader to see if a code shows. If the alt is bad, you may have already run down the new battery.

As V10 said, try a 3rd test before you spend the $$$
