[Finally got it !]

Well it happened. Came across a C6 Z06 today in speedway 84 in ct. Brand new from Loehman Blasius in Waterbury Ct.
We had three speed contests. Dead stop.Roll on from 30 mph.Roll on from 80 mph.
Anyone want to venture some guesses as to the out comes? Before the Corvette freaks go crazy when seeing this on the board. Yes, I have pics. My car has Corsa exhaust and Random cats. No K&n..
From a dead stop to 120mph. I had a good two car lengths on him. I pulled early then it seemed to level off. Guess the Tc does not help the Vette guys either.
Roll on from 30mph. Again I pulled but this time I may have had him by only a car length or less.We shut down at about 100mph
Roll on from 80mph to about 140mph. I would say dead even or he pulled slighty. Would have been a photo finish.
I am no drag racing specialist. Neither was the porter that I think was driving the Z06. I think this is some true world numbers. The torque down low helps the Viper out of the hole but goes away as the speeds progress.
Nice looking car but still too similar to a regular C6. One thing I did not like was what looked to be rear fender splash guards. Not the same color as the body. Maybe an option but I would definetly have that sprayed or deleted...

I haven't had my car dynoed so I don't know what the exhaust system added. But my opinion would be that the Torque makes up for the weight difference down low. After that it seems the Z06 would be the faster of the two.
P.s. I weigh 275 if that makes any difference to you gear heads.....

Can't speak for him but I started in 3rd. Stock rearend.

Sounds great!!! I offered to bring my Viper (bone stock) to the local chevy dealership once they got the new Z06. I went there just curious about the car and told them about my Viper. They asked if i would bring it by when the Z06 came in and i said i will not only bring it by but i will race the new owner if he wants to go toe-to-toe (even after his break-in period).. Still waiting for that call.. Im ready....

Where on 84 was this.... around what exits? I was on 84 the whole day today driving to the Big E

Are you kidding ??? The Z06 vette is supposed to run 11.5 at 127 mph and the Viper beat it by a couple car lengths.. LOL!!

I for one TOTALLY believe the story.

1) New Z06 that's not broken in
2) Inexperienced driver of the Z06
3) Modded Viper vs Stock Z06
4) Broken in viper
5) Viper driver who OWNS the car and is more familiar with it

I have NO ambition to buy a Z06, looks too "plain" to me as does the SRT-10
and the coupe. Thus is why I'm looking to purchase a GTS.

mopar, this is a gen 3 forum. almost everyone is going to be in favor of the gen3 viper. so why try and say that the z06 wouldnt tie the viper? yes the viper had minor mods but its a gen 3 forum ,so theres no point tring to start an arguement in the vettes favor. so why bother?

Near the Cheshire exit. Think that is 26. The chevy dealer is the exit before.
P.s. This all happened on a closed course called Speedway 84..

I'm not trying to arguee anything but the FACTS. Fact is I will NOT be buying a Z06 or a SRT, who is the faster car doesn't concern me. BUT once you analyze the information as I did the SRT clearly had the advantage and won like it should have. Like I said I'm not doubting it took place or that he won.

Sounds like good news for team Viper. I was @ Milan Dragway this past Wednesday with the Viper. There was an 06z06, sunset orange, parked. Never ran. Very disappointing. I was curious to see if the driver could get anywhere near the mag posted figures...
