Ha! I almost didn't answer my phone wwhen he called. I work nights and was sound asleep. My first thought when I was woken up was - "Whoever this is better have a [******] good reason for calling me this early!"

.... turns out he did...

I hope you're at the VA-MD VCA party tonight in Annapolis. That way you can meet Skip Thomas of ViperDays (now LGM) and get on the right track (pun intended) with the Comp Coupe!

Congrats, Bro!

The Ohio Viper Club saw it Friday afternoon on tour of the Viper Competition Coupe assembly plant, which is part of Roush Racing (I didn't know that either).

It is one beautiful car. :2tu:

Thanks everyone, the response I have gotten recently has been incredible. I really appreciate it.

Sadly however I already had to put her on the block. I am pursuing an option to pay the taxes, but none of those interested in buying are willing to wait. And because of the horrible timing (in terms of the VRL season and taxes) it looks like I am only going to be able to clear about $100k before taxes - which adds salt to an already painfully sore wound. As it stands today, unless I get some ridiculous offer, I will be back into the one-viper club by New Years.

On the bright side though it looks like I will finally get that paint job for Mistress and get some of the other minor issues cleared up. The Heff TT and sister 96 RT will have to wait, but each looks well within reach now. Last week I thought I would have to wait until retirement.

I will post back to this thread, and I have another on the CC Forum, regarding everything to do with the raffle and its outcome. My email is always open for any questions or comments.

Thanks again for all the support and enthusiasm...

Brian:

My only thought would be to give Skip Barber a call. Maybe you can work out some arrangement with him to maintain and "rent" out your car to drivers. Might be a means for you to keep it, make some coin AND get to use it on occasions when it's not rented.

Just a thought.

I think you are meaning Skip "Thomas"..... of Viper Days.
Actually Janni, I don't know Skip Thomas (although he DID just send my region a 1/2 coupon that we raffled off), but I did know Skip Barber some time ago. I was just thinking that he might find it useful for his Dodge sponsored school at Limerock (or elsewhere for that matter) and Brian might get to use it on occasion.

Sorry - I didn't think that Skip Barber rented cars - but only had then for the school and race series. Skip Thomas used to have a Dodge supplied Competition Coupe for rent at Viper Days. Sorry - my bad.

Might be worth considering, though I doubt he'd be willing to pay the $2500/m necessary to cover the cost of the loan. Still if you know the man and think he may be interested have him drop me a line. The heads of my region (MD/VA) know how to reach me all day long and I think you know how to reach them.
