With the ignition key removed and you open SRT-10 door the alert dinging begins and goes on and on. I know if the key is in the ignition it alerts you to remove it, but all the time when cleaning the interior or other reasons to keep door open, the dinging does not stop. My dealer says this is normal, but I don't believe it. Please advise.

It is normal as long as the driver door is open, key is in the ignition, (but not in the forward RUN position) or if the lights are on.

It will eventually time out, but chances are, you will pull out your hair long before.

two soutions:

-Turn up your radio
-use a small screwdriver to push the latch back to the closed position. DONT FORGET TO REOPEN THE LATCH BEFORE YOU TRY AND CLOSE THE DOOR, and close the door slowly. If it does want to close, use the same driver to pull the latch all the way open, sometimes they are sticky.

The Key is not in the ignition when it dings. All cars ding when door is open with key in it. No Key still dings

If it's dinging when the key is not in the car, then it's broken.

Take it to your dealer.

I drove it to the dealer and he said it was supposed to do that since he replaced the body module. He said it would turn off in 15 minutes. The lights even stay on while it is dinging away.

I'm pretty sure your dealer is clueless.

Unless this is some new "upgrade" with 2005 cars (which I doubt), I think your car is broken.

It should only ding if the headlights are on or if the key is in the car.

Otherwise, you should be able to open the doors and leave them open without any dings.
