The article said both were ejected and neither were wearing seatbelts. It may have been a 2002 RT/10 instead of a GTS. Best wishes to the family. RIP

Always awful to hear about crashes and I feel for the families involved. I was just talking with some friends about how often I hear about Viper wrecks on Mondays or Tuesdays during the summer. It seems that they get driven over the weekend for fun, and a high percentage of those drives end up in wrecks. All that power is pretty darned seductive - and things get out of control really quick.

This is a tragedy for the families of those involved. Condolences.

Are you more likely to wreck while driving a Viper or does it just seem that way because whenever there is a wreck it is posted here?

While we don't know the cause of the accident it should be a requirement that people get on this site and read these all too common threads before jumping behind the wheel. Things happen but they seem to happen more often with new Viper owners or when drivers don't respect the car.

I was about to pass on reading this post, but purposely opened and read it thinking it may help remind me to not get over zeolous, careless or over confident when driving the viper. This just a reminder to rest of us to drive safe and responsibly so we can enjoy our cars for a long time to come. My sincere condelences and prayers going out for the family!

My bro is watching my Viper as I am away, I told him he will get bit if he does anything stupid. He is a bit cocky and my mom has spotted him at ******* with the car already. He is older than me and has had high performance cars. I would hate for anything to happen to him, my tires are old and I don't plan on replacing them until I am back. He is only to drive it for maintenance... everytime a "Viper crash" appears I get worried!!

After my car is out of his garage he wants to get himself a Viper. =D

RIP.

+1 for RT/10. It would take some serious force, which can happen in a wreck, to get a person out a GTS window.
