...and it's ME!

This is the first day of Viper ownership for me and what a wonderful day it has been! The car is a gorgeous showroom-quality red '00 GTS. My wife and I are still amazed that we now own it.

Before I say any more, I must give thanks to the excellent support I have received from the Viper community. I have been roaming the VCA forums for years now, collecting every little tidbit of information necessary to be 100% sure about exactly what I wanted. This website is of immeasurable value.

I also want to specifically thank a few folks for their help in my particular Viper search:
Larry Cate, Lee Stubberfield, Ron Hickey, Ken Hahn, Cody (*****?), Jason Heffner, and Jim Jeffries.

Yes, I'm joining the VCA (what a great club), and yes, I'm ready for the time needed to keep it looking like it does. And yes, I'll make sure those tires are pointed straight before I hit the "go" pedal!

Thanks much and never take for granted the best of the best!

John got a great car, I was amazed how nice this car was when I checked it for him. Showroom new! I would encourage anyone who has never participated in one of these crosscountry "referrals" to do so. Fun, and you wind up meeting nice people. John just called me to let me know everything turned out well, nice of him, especially as he just got the car, I probably would have forgotten to do that for a few days!

I know Lee, Ron, and Jason, and they are excellent at helping people and
very knowledgeable. I have had great check outs from Jason twice! (Thanks
Jason !)
Good going ! I bought my '00 red GTS in Detroit this spring,
and it turned out great, as I am glad yours did. Enjoy, join VCA,

Sounds like you found a very nice car! Join the club asap, and call me. I'll get you set up with the events for the remainder of the year.

This friday we are headed to Portland Internation Raceway for the Friday (15th) night drags. Come down and hangout with us.

Oh man, I am so with you on this one. I just got mine a bit less than 1 month ago and I can't stay out of it. And although I have been sideways a couple of times, I am learning that these cars, with some moderation and respect, are actuallly very predictable and the cornering(which is all we have here!) is to die for. So flat and even. I could go on and on.....its truly and amazing experience that transcends car ownership!

Jody,
check your mail, in Owings Mills New Town. Car is at Villa Julie College
sometimes. You are near there ?
Give me a call, also check the Va/Md region events.. sometimes there,
usually with one or two dozen other area Vipers.

I'll get pics up when I can get them loaded to a website.

This car is so awesome! Every one of you that has one knows about my ear-to-ear grin that won't go away (hey, anyone that's even ridden in one understands!).

Although I'd test driven a few other Vipers, I really didn't have the opportunity to get used to it. I'm quite pleased at how comfortable the car is and how good the visibility is. And, of course, the incredible power! There is no such thing as "lag" in a Viper. I also don't seem to even notice the offset pedals or lack of a dead pedal. The adjustable pedals are great, because my wife and I have a 10" difference in height (yes, she gets to drive it, too!).

The attention is something new--very fun. It's neat to see so many heads turn. Kids especially seem to go wild about it (or maybe adults are just trying to be less obvious!). I really enjoy it and have had no negative experiences so far.

It's gonna take awhile to give out all the rides I've been asked for...

Ken had mentioned the "instant celebrity status" or "rock star aspect". When I first got gas, there were some kids doing a car wash thing across the street and I tell you, they were yelling for five continuous minutes to bring the Viper over! I enjoy the head-turning ability of this car.
