Viperholics,

Just wondering if anyone else is using this insurance policy (CHROME - coverage from American National Property And Casualty Company (ANPAC®). An insurance product in a class by itself, designed by car buffs for car buffs.)

Here's what the letters stand for:

C - Classic or Antique, at least 25 years old
H - Hot Rod or Street Rod, built prior to 1949
R - Replica or Kit Car
O - Originals, at least 25 years old
M - Modified or Custom, at least 25 years old
E - Exotic: rare or unique, valued in excess of $25,000

Of course, we fit in the 'E' category.

Here are my questions:

1.) Are you happy with this coverage?

2.) Do you know if they cover track events (driving schools), like Viperdays or VOI?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. - Prices are reasonable. Your rates are based off the apraised value of the vehicle, along with your deductable (5% of appraisal). Your permitted to drive 7,500 miles per year.

If you also have your house and another car or so(correct me if I am wrong) you get 25% of your premium back after your 3rd claim free year and for every year after that as long as you remain claim free. I was going to do the house, 3 regular vehicles and the Viper and a Boxter S on the chrome package but due to one $800 driveway incident and one where my vehicle was backed into in a parking lot while we were in a resturant they will not put me on the better rate. The parking lot deal was a total of $888.00 before a $250 deductable. My Allstate agent turned this incident in as a collision/uninsured motorist instead of a comp claim and that means I am shown as a driver and it still counts against me. The American General (anpac) agent explained to her underwriter that no one was even in the vehicle. He told her to aquire the police report to prove this, so I drove to Chattanooga and got the report then the SOB still would not write it. Needless to say I would like to talk to this Fu**er in a dark alley!!! Thats all in three years that I have cost Allstate....$1438.00.....NO tickets for 5 plus years....have been with Allstate for 15 years......my auto bill is like $10,000 a year with allstate.....Did I mention I am pi$$ed? At the higher rate I think it is still cheaper but don't think I will do it because of getting ****** around. The driveway incident will be three years old in Feb. and will drop at that time. Maybe I will do it then. I wish I had some phone numbers of this guys bosses so I could raise some ****. Funny you should bring this up.....all this has come about in the last three days.

Yep. That's the same policy. I have my home owners on as well, and do get the 25% discount if I stay claim free. One major downside to the policy is this: 5% of appraised value is non-negociable deductable. My Viper was appraised at $67,000 (on the high side), so my deductable is $3,350

!!! But when all is said and done, I am only paying around $700 a year after discount, give or take. No such thing as a free lunch, I guess.

Yes, I remember taking pictures of the car. Although, I don't recall having to take pictures of the engine bay. But can't be 100% sure....
