Here are a couple pics.
The fascia has a series of nut plates along the front edge.
If the shape of the splitter is a "D", the straight aft edge would not be attached to anything - that's a long unsupported edge.
OR the splitter is a curved, maybe 8" wide piece, like a curved strip that extends maybe 4" fore and aft of the attachment screws.
Another pic w/"Cat Eyes" filled in:
Here you can see if a "D" shape, the splitter would be a huge piece approaching 2' wide at the center.
Considering how far the splitter wraps around, I'm thinking it would be "narrow" strip that doesn't extend far from the fasteners.
Then there's the splitter paint: (car is black w/red stripes)
*) Black (conservative)
*) Black w/Red Stripes (coolest)
*) Red (too much?)
