Any 06 Owners with AP Engineering Hood with painted stripes? Quick Q

I'm looking at maybe purchasing the hood from these guys. Anyone have this hood with 06 width stripes painted on it? Just wondering if the stripes will be clear of the vents. I know they dont clear the vents on the 08 factory hood.

Bat, I called Jeff about the same question a month ago. He told me no one had tried it yet, but, he thought the stripe would touch the vents. ROLSTAR photoshopped this same picture for me and came to the conclusion that you need to taper if you want to keep the stripes out of the hood vents. I went with the stock '08 hood and switched the bumper. Mike

Can someone measure the total width of the factory stripe at the front and at the rear of the hood. If I know these dimensions I can run a line to see if they clear.

Jeff is referring to 06 Hood stripes. I spoke with him today shortly after posting this thread. Since my car is in the shop, I am unable to make the measurement. So like Jeff requested, he needs the width of the 06 hood stripes at the front of the hood and at the rear, also, how far the stripes are from one another. Thanks guys.

Jeff,

8" up front
8 3/8" on the back end of the hood. Let us know. Maybe a pic with tape showing where the stripes would sit on your hood?

Whats the TOTAL width up front and Total width in the back?

Based on your info so far I have 8" of stripe (for a total of 16") but now I need the dimension of the space between for a total width.

OK, A member here was nice enough to call in and give me the dimensions for factory 06 stripes. Unfortuately, the stripe still falls into the vent although not as much as a factory 08 hood. Bummer, sooo close.

That's not too bad Jeff. Here they are on Hiss's car with a factory 08 hood:

As you can see from the pic, yours has a bit more clearance, still, not bad. Thanks for posting the pics .

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to put 06 stripes on an 08 hood like HISS did. IMHO, it gives the car much more charactor and interest than the skinny 08 stripes. Go for it.. LOL
