I had been on and off considering painting my razor wheels black but after seeing the photo Ralph posted today, I just gotta have some black Gen V wheels instead!

Based on what happened with the Gen III and Gen IV wheels, when do you guys guess that the Gen V wheels will be available for purchase on their own?

Obviously no one knows for sure -- I'm just looking for rough estimates, i.e. as soon as the car comes out? 6 months later? etc.

This fall you will be able to buy a complete set of 4......but the pricing will be kinda' high just for a set of wheels, somewhere north of 100K, and you'll have to pull them off the car yourself, but they'll already have the tires mounted on them. If I were to get a set, I would just leave them on the donor car and drive it.

Haha, if only I had the money! :)

Damn, that's what I was afraid of. I was hoping Mopar would start putting out spares sooner.

Thanks.

I'd also like to know the weight of those track wheels compared to Gen IV ACR wheels.

Sure it will...Gen IV ACRs run 295s up front

Oh, that's right, I had forgotten. :)

However wider tires reduce understeer which is built into the car for safety, no? (As opposed to oversteer) I imagine the 2013 is set up for the wider tires while a Gen 4 is meant to have 275's if on the road.

Still, damn those wheels are ****...

If the wheels are the same width it wouldn't matter, run 275s on them if you like.

Why do you say that? The 295 size is a 30 series not the same 35 series that the current fronts are. Many folks who track their cars are running 305's or even 315's up front without a problem.

I am running 335's up front on my 01 RT-10 as my daily setup and have no problems at all.

Doubt you will be able to purchase the wheels soon , Allen, as when a new model comes out virtually all the supply is dedicated to the build. In the past it took quite awhile for rims to become available , and the first ones that do are often blems. Can remember in 2008 that a customer damaged an ACR fairly early and getting a rim for him was about as easy as getting an audience with the Pope.

On the launch video Ralph said that there will be seven (7) different style of wheels, each with their own part number that you can order on the Viper.

I hope that means you can order the track pac wheels separately from the track pac tires.

I don't know about the lighter brake packare.

I am quite sure anything will be possible if your checkbook is large enough.

Well I managed to get my hands on one... it's not black like 007 wants but it's the real deal. It's called the Sidewinder II.

i will just take a guess from past mopar prices that the rears will $3,000 ea give or take and the fronts will be north of $2,600 ea retail.....wait for a set of take offs and let some time pass and you will get a better deal because at $11,000+ just not worth it.

and thats not to diminish how nice they look

You can pick up a full set of brand new gen 4 wheels for $2700 or ACR wheels for $3800 total. Why do you think they'll be so much more?

That was my thought. And Id have to think the track wheels will be less exclusive than ACR wheels since you can get them with SRT or GTS not just an ACR only wheel.

LOL...
It was easy...that's in my garage! :)
I went to the reveal in New York and this was one of the silent auction items there that night.
It's the 1st-off proto from the new mold. The engineers used it for reviewing... then saved it to be used at the auction. Of course I later had to add the banner to go with. :D

Speaking about value, selling it could be a way for Mike to get the exhaust that he wants done earlier :eater: NOT trying to be an instigator of anything, just saying ..... :D
