I got an 09 thinking it was the last Viper. I hear someone may buy Viper and that maybe part of the deal is they can sell it in 2010 still using Dodge name but this may be rank speculation.

Any recent word on a 2010, or if the factory will be up and running soon?

I heard we are in a deep dark recession, and nobody is buying or selling cars, has this changed?

No, it hasn't changed....car prices are falling, home prices continue to fall[19 million empty homes in the US at the end of Dec] and now commercial real estate is really taking it on the chin. Its called deflation and it means "stuff" is worth less tomorrow than it is today; all i ask ask is that you do not shoot the messenger. Feb car sales should be out later today[ford this am and gm and chrysler in the afternoon]

Well, yes I guess it has changed, as we are up 20% over last February. People do seem to be still buying cars and trading them in , and it sures seems alot better than the 80s when interest was at 21%.................guess I realize times are not as advantageous as in years past, but 74-75 sure seemed alot worse than now.

Lets talks about cars ...

Volkswagen will be on the market in 2015 no matter what. It seems that Volkswagen is the only car manufacturer making money.

Honda and Toyota are in very deep trouble. As much as GM. They all lost 50% in sales.

Chrysler become the number one seller in Canada since september 2008. However Chrysler is seriously considering Chapter 11 bancruptcy in order to clean its depts and restart from a better looking accounting book. This should be a professional well planned reorganisation. In my opinion this move should have been done 6 months ago. Chrysler should be on the market in 2015 too. However poorly trained accountants (there are lot of them) might axe the Viper. The Viper brand worth a lot of money. So the question is how much the accountants are attached to the Viper and if they are ready to wait until Chrysler can sell it or make it financially viable ...

GM is in deep trouble. They have cooked their accounting books (personal opinion). Already in September we (financial market) had noise about the dramatical drop in their sales. If they bankrupt they will never standup again ... That will be a wild west bancruptcy. Opel is already in the garbage can in Germany.

Too small to survive in a global economy...and, customers did not want to buy OPEL in the past. Why should they in the future?
Nothing better in an OPEL car - compared to a VW, Ford, Seat, ...

Last I knew was that Chrysler planned to build the Viper through 2011 whne conner was scheduled to close, if there was not a buyer for the car.

Good for your store, though I beg to differ, as the results just out say otherwise.

If the damn media, not to metion our own administration in DC would stop talking down the economy people would start buying again. Everyone is so scared.

Not me I bought an 09 Viper and an 09 CTS-V in the last 2 months--I say the hell with it. If I go bankrupt, I will do it in style.:)

I have bought four cars in the last six months (08 ACR, 08 Jeep SRT, 08 Ford F450, and 08 Audi RS4)...I'm doing my part in this economy.
