Yea, SRT painted a car another color. That should show GM.

Ive never been a vette guy, always respected the performance, but never to own. I cannot believe it but I could definitely go for that charcoal z06, can't wait to see the perf numbers it achieves.

For me, the blue doesn't bring out the lines on the car, but the charcoal really makes the car pop.

I want so badly to like the new Z06, but something about it just doesn't do it for me...

I know what you don't like. It doesn't flow. Seems very cut up. Part of me says cool but to busy.

Would I own one, maybe but not before I would buy another Viper.

srt should learn some marketing tips from GM. srt needs to sell vipers and in my opinion a display like this sells cars.

not to mention more HP and a vert to boot.

Seems GM has a new attitude about all the competition.......

http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevrolet-camaro-wishes-ford-mustang-happy-50th/

Very classy move on their part.

Wow, I'm beginning to think GM is specifically trying to ****** me. I've never considered a single Chevy product for ownership since I sold my very first car, a'72 Nova, which I loved dearly as a 16 yr old. We can trash talk for fun all we want but I'm getting a little bone going for the z07 vette there & this classy move is really something. Kudos GM. (man, did I just say that?)

I also heard in that interview the pricing will be Z06 like and not ZR1 like, that's impressive as well.

The GM section of the show is on the North side and out of the way from the rest of the show. When you walk into the hallway it starts with 6-8 performance or race cars, C-7 GT car, '69 Camaro pace car, continental challenge Camaro, last one is Jimmy Johnson's NASCAR ride.

The two Z-06's had that cut-a-way next two it, really told alot about what's under the skin of those Z-06's

I looked at the carbon TA and took a few pictures, while I was there for 5 minutes I think I saw 1 guy take a picture, at the Z-06 display, ton's of journalist and big camera set ups, interesting that the red C7 didn't have too many lookers, old news?

Hopefully at the LA show or Detroit next year they'll show a new Viper convertible and/or ACR and draw the kind a buzz like the Z-06's

Are you guys drinking GM kool aid heavily? This car is heavier and less powerful than the last viper, uses power robbing and heat sink producing supercharging and it looks like someone knocked it out in the parking lot of the nearest Auto Zone store, especially those fender extensions. This car has inferior aerodynamics and body enhancements that only fart pipe crowd would love. I am not a biggest fan of newest Viper but this is considerably worse, not to mention the paint quality issues that car will have.

You may be right about the car having "at least 625 hp".....you might be right that the car might have heat soak issues with the supercharger.

But, you really have no concept of aerodymanics and why those fender lip extensions with tie in to the front splitter work. You can no concept of the advantage of the vented hood (doubt me?....look at the Gen 4 and 5 hoods, same concept). Please explain to me why an adjustable wickerbill on the back spoiler is inferior to the meager and non-adjustable $3500.00 option that is available on a Gen 5?

Does it look good?...that would be personal preference. Does the aero work?.....I never expected to see any USA manufacturer put on something so extreme and functional on a mainstream car (this is even more radical than the Gen 4 ACR).

Paint quality? I don't care what brand of car or the cost......paint is going to get f'd up when following other cars on the track at 160 mph. But I guess that only matters if you take your car to the track and have the talent to use its performance potential.....paint should be pretty safe down at the local Dairy Queen.

George he posts repeatedly his hatred for the C7, to the point he has been either tossed out or ignored on Vette forums.
Anyone who states so emphatically his "opinion" to be fact is almost always dead wrong.

LOL, now, ain't this ironic, Viper owners defending a Corvette. Maybe I do have a bit of a clue regarding aerodynamics. Feel free to educate me here regarding the Cd of Z06, the disclosed downforce and few other minor details. Maybe you should nderstand the differences between the differences in hood vent functions between Viper and Corvette? LOL at that screw on "wickerbill". Put that helmet on and duck, the sky is falling. LOL... Good thing the paint quality and fit and finish do not matter to you, just order one in primer then.

Thanks for your OPINION on the subject then.:omg: To make clear, I do not hate Corvette, I hate what pathetic turn it took lately.

wasn't it a valid point made above for C7 Z vs G5? C7 is:
1) heavier
2) less HP
3) more tq
4) heat soak potential
5) uglier
6) less quality
7) unknown downforce figures

It does seem like some serious kook-aid drinking happening...

btw, anybody else think it is pretty teenager like to post the hp/tq on plagues on dash and motor? I guess if prime target is bragging, it is right there to point to folks?

Is there really any debate?

Meh, it just doesn't do it for me... Thanks for the post tho, hopefully it will spur some innovation on our side of the divide...

They are marketing geniuses tho, goodness the world is going mad for this car, and I frankly feel like i SHOULD want this car, so nice work by them.

And yea, super classy move by camaro, cute ad there.

Yeah, that's normal. :) No agenda there.

Holy C7 stalker, Batman!! :omg:.......:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

No wonder the Germans lost WWII.....what a bunch of retards. Look at how they screwed up the aerodynamics on this race car.....wide fender lips over the tires and not even a flat hubcap or turbine fan wheel to **** the air out from under the car. I figured I'd help them out so I sent them a link to corvettec7fiasco.blogspot.com.

The facts are irrelevant to this group of (former?) Viper enthusiasts. I think they all will be selling their Vipers in a hurry. The sky is falling for them. LMAO.

Ignorance is bliss as already documented by your statements regarding Viper and Corvette hood vents. You my friend should learn the difference between vents and heat extractors but thanks for making **** of yourself in the meantime. LMAO.

Just so I can fully understand your logic Professor Physics......So you're claiming:

1. A vent that releases high pressure from under the hood cannot allow heat to escape.

2. A heat extraction vent cannot also vent high pressure from under the hood.

Ok, got it.

If this is correct, please quickly patent this tidbit of brain activity as multiple vehicle manufacturers will be paying you royalties beyond your wildest dreams. Imagine the good that can be done once the world stops letting heat AND pressure out of the same hole.....which you've demonstrated is something you can really relate to :smirk:

Please, oh god please enlighten us as to what you think the holes in the hood of the Gen 4/5 Viper do and what the hole in the C7 and new Z-28 do. Please wait about 10 minutes before explaining as I want to get some popcorn popping :eater:

And to think I was going to waste money on movie tickets tonight.

Go to the movies. The stupidity of this situation is right down impressive: I pointed out factual problems with the new CORVETTE Z06 only to see people like you attack me, here, on VIPER forum. I was not criticizing the Viper, in fact, I was pointing out its superiority but apparently you and others feel otherwise?

LOL at your naïve attitude regarding car manufacturers being interested in good engineering, GM is too cheap to spend FIFTY SEVEN CENTS but judging after your statements, good marketing is all they need to sell to people like you. Now, I am done with you and others, good discussion requires knowledge and intellectual stimulation and you lack both of these qualities. Go back to defending Corvette and have a laxative before your bedtime.

Come to think about it, your ignorance is not a bad thing, maybe price of Vipers will go down even more. I am in the market for a car but gotta tell you that people like you and Chrysler dealers make more and more look toward Porsche 911 Turbo (if I cannot find a Rossion) as my daily driver. And thanks for even more free publicity for my blog:2tu:
