I lived there 3 years (didn't have a Viper at that time). One word of caution about paradise and cars. I was stationed on the windward side of the island, which is the opposite side from Honolulu. I took 2 cars over including a newly painted modified '70 MachI and a new Dodge car. In less than a year, the paint was bubbling from all the rust. I sold both cars at a loss and bought an island car to last me the last couple of years I was there. The windward side of the island gets a lot more salt spray than the Honolulu side. I lived within about 300 yards of the beach and did not have a garage for the cars, so my situation was probably worse case, but something to keep in mind. Hopefully one of the 'Locals' will chime in with their experience.
You'll also have a hard time finding a place to exercise the beast. Not a lot of open roads. I don't know how it is now, but when I was there in the 80's, the cops all drove their own personal cars. Many of them were fixed up and looked like Starsky & Hutch-mobiles. Hard place to spot a cop car when they are all different.
Other than that, if you like the sun and water activities such as scuba diving, it's a great place to live, though a bit touristy. For some strange reason, I had more family and friends visit when I lived way over there than now when I live only 300 miles away... go figure.
