Anybody use the \"Car Capsule\" for storage? Opinions?

In case you don't know what this thing is; it is self inflating plastic bubble that surrounds your car. It has got it's own air pump. You drive onto it's floormat, zip it up, and turn on the pump.

I just placed an order for one, and am hoping it is a great protection barrier and keeps the mice out. It was about 400 bucks.

Do any of you use one? How do you like it?

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Jim

Great topic...hope answers are forthcoming...my worry has to do with fan motor that runs all the time...will it catch fire as it fails?? Have there been long-term tests...with what results?? They "look good" to me...once above clear, I might need 4-5.

I have found that a large can or box of moth balls left open in a camper, boat or vehicle will keep just about anything out of the interior.Of course it wouldn't do too much for the engine compartment. Bruce

I have one and I like it very much. The base mat serves as an effective moisture barrier and I haven't seen a mouse in there yet.

As far as the motor, I believe it is a brushless type with a constant impedance. Therefore even if the bearings failed and it stopped it should be fine. One person can set it up but it is WAY easier with two people. When I have the car in it I run an extension cord inside to the battery tender. As an added bonus, your fellow club members will razz you nonstop and give you cute names like "Bubbleboy"!

Chuck, they actually call you Bubbleboy? How insensitive! You don't look like John Travolta at all! The only mouse that could get into your bubble, after you welded that zipper shut, would be Mighty Mouse. Have a safe new year and see you at CAAP on Jan 12th.

Really! You would think they would have better things to occupy their time. Or at least come up with something more creative.
