Anyone color matched the outer door sills on a Gen 2?

I know this is a high traffic area on the car and mine has a lot of scratches. Has anyone painted the outer door sills to match the paint on their car instead of having them black? I know the Gen 3's and up are all painted to the door jambs and sills. Just wondering if anyone has painted theirs and how well it holds up. Thanks!

Yes, I had mine painted. Body shop used the paint code to mix paint, but was to light. Scanned the hood and got close. Finally painted some sample and tinted it to match. The car is a 96 GTS B/W.

Painting that black "Hockey Stick" door jamb is not a big job, but the lower portion gets Hot-HoT-HOT!

And as you noted your shoes and your passenger shoes will destroy the paint with all the tiny stones that tennis shoes carry. . Anodized Aluminum sill-guards that are engraved-painted with your color/model/logo probably cost less and take a beating
