I put a set of fairly cheap 5.5" driving lights (driving lights = pin-point beam for distance, not the flat wide beam of fog lights) into the fog light openings with great results a number of years ago on my old 1995 RT. Admittedly a bit too low of a mounting point for driving lights (little tiny bumps show huge shadows and take a little getting used to
, but, without putting an aftermarket front end on the car, thats pretty much our only option. I ran separate 12-gauge power wires plus a dedicated relay off of the main power tap for them (as they were 110W- the stock fogs are something like 25W, I seem to recall). You'll laugh or criticize, but I put some el-cheapo driving lights in there ($20 each from JC Witless) more as a proof of concept than anything else, and I was very happy with them, so I never changed them out. Biggest challenge was the mounting - I used some aluminum stock bent into an L-shape, mounted to the fender behind the lights. On an unrelated note, I also put in an HID system about 30,000 miles ago, and spent a long time re-aiming the lights, and have yet to be brighted by someone (guess I got them aimed right). Yes, I like to be able to see a long ways at night...
