I know there is a kit you can buy to make your hatch open with the push of a button from the inside, but has anyone ever hooked one up to a keyless entry or integrated it with their factory key fob?

I just bought a small solenoid that will pull the cable which will open the hatch, and there is an option to use a relay that will allow you to integrated it with a key fob, but I'm not sure I will be able to do it with the Viper? It sounds dead simple but I don't know if my standard 2 button lock/unlock key fob will allow me to have a 3rd option? I would prefer to keep my factory key fob vs. buying an aftermarket keyless entry with more functions.

Has anyone ever done this before? Thanks!

Just Kidding, I have the MGW metal glove box cover in my car ....With a cup holder :D

On my 2000 GTS I have the lift up tab by the side of the drivers seat which opens up the rear hatch. I know the earlier cars did not have this feature.

I dont know much about electronic gizmo's, but I do remember seeing a Corvette at a car show, there were some people looking closely at the car when all of a sudden the car started up by itself, It made the people jump back and was quite funny :) The owner was standing nearby and kept starting the car as people got close :D

Would love to have that ability on my '01 GTS. Any vendors out there with an aftermarket kit for the GTS?

It might add weight to the car :nono:

:D

first thing i thought of! thats why there isn't one originally. it is annoying when i have to get something out the trunk with the car running. but whatever, i rarely use the trunk anyways.

You will have to get an aftermarket alarm kit that includes it's only key fob. There are kits you can find that can tie into the trunk and you'll have to have a solenoid installed and hooked up to the alarm. Other than that I can't think of any other way to do it.

I've thought about doing that before but concluded that it's just not worth the effort.
