I met a guy today that says he has a 2000 Z06 Convertible. He says it's an A&M Productions show car that they only made 14 of. Anyone heard of this? He wants to trade (with some cash) for my S/ST Ram truck!!!What's the Vette worth?dj

I believe Kid97GTS is correct about the ZO6 being a 2001 model. There is a customizer, Carravagio, who does make convertables and targas out of ZO6's, however, it sounds like this guy might be trying to pull one over on you given the year and such. Maybe he also just dropped in the LS6 and the suspension parts onto a 2000 'vert?

The guy is straight-up. The car is a 2000 for sure. It's a pre production "prototype" convert. The registration says it's a 2k Z06. The guy works for Reliable and has hauled the show cars for GM. It's only got 1,000 miles on it. He says it was one of the show cars GM had converted by A&M. dj

I'm not sure I'd go along with the trade if I were you David. I feel a snake in the grass on this deal. If I had to guess I say the 2000 VETTE would be worth maybe around $35,000. Just a guess though. ZO6 was first available in 2001 only. Good luck

Caravaggio does indeed make Z06 convertibles. His latest creation is a Z06 Grand Sport Convertible which can be seen on the C5 Registry. Its a nice looking car.

I think the ZO6 started production in 2001, so I think the car the guy has could be a number of things - 1) a pre-production car contracted by GM (but I would think GM would keep all that sort of thing in house), in which case I couldn't guess at the price; 2) a 2000 convertible with an LS6 dropped in, which might lose "numbers matching" value, but which I'd probably pay $43K for; 3) a 2000 convertible with a ZO6 badge pasted on (still a 2000 convertible should go for around $40K, depending on mileage); 4) a C5 that has been chopped or otherwise customized to look like a concept of a ZO6 convertible, which I'd stay away from unless I knew the customizer, and even then, I wouldn't pay a premium for a one-off; 5) a kit car - run, run away as fast as you can. Thus, if legit., I'd guess $40-45,000 in good condition.

BTW, remember that although you might pick up a couple horses over your SS/T, you will lose the stripes!!!!
