My passenger sideview mirror stopped working yesterday. I took the mirror off, suspecting that the wiring harness had come unplugged (which was indeed the case).

Has anyone tried to replug the harness? The only way I could get to the harness was by removing the door speaker. I was able to stick my arm in the speaker hole and up to the mirror, but there is ABSOLUTELY no slack in the wire. I was unable to feed the harness from the car through the hole. The other side of the harness (connected to the mirror) was also too short to bring down into the door by more than an inch.

My other concern was that the wiring harness would be right by where the window would slide down. Is this possibly why the harness came loose? I could see the mirror catching, and pulling the plugs apart.

If anyone knows how to remove the interior door panels, please post. I was able to remove the door handle (which doesn't help), but I'm afraid to remove any other screws for fear of not knowing what they fasten.

Thanks for the help!

If all else fails, I guess I can always bring the car to my Viper tech... this seems like there should be an easy enough fix, though.

Problem is going once, going twice... soon to be sold to my Viper tech :)

Someone HAS to know the best way to get to this mirror, right?

Also, what are some of you SHORTER guys' impression of how far to the left the mirror will rotate? I have taken an informal local poll, and most guys admit that the mirror doesn't rotate far enough...
