Can never trust new parts

Needed a new alternator for my 01.

Bought a brand new mopar unit since I try to avoid reman stuff when possible.

Take it out of the box, give the pulley a spin and 'click click click click click click click click click'

Thanks but I bought another new Mopar one from Rock Auto .... just wanted to vent that the Mexican on the assembly line couldn't be bothered to take 1 second to spin it to make sure it's good

It just feels like the quality of the auto sector - parts and labor - has gone into the toilet these days.

"Mexican" is a nationality, not a race. It's generalizing to bash on Mexicans as a whole, but it's not racist. You can bash on Americans, Canadians, whatever, same deal. It's at least probable that a Mexican factory worker played a big role in making that part, and that a Mexican QC worker missed it. But maybe it was damaged in shipping. Maybe parts in that alternator were bad and came from somewhere else. Maybe it was QC'd somewhere else. Who knows. That said, ****** parts can and do come from anywhere. Glad you got a new one. Moving on.
